Nice day this morning from Ferry road track. A lot more difficult than I recall 20 years ago but I guess age is a factor. 😂😂
Yes that’s a Karearea in the foreground, we were bystanders to a ferocious territory dispute including an inflight battle.

Cruising the harbour this morning in my electric kayak I came across this little guy, who ignored me in it's morning preening routine. It was very happy to allow me to come within a couple of meters. Photo 8:52.
3 seperate others were in the vicinity but more wary, I guess they were still fishing.

A very busy week or two has been possible. The new path is equally busy, more that 3 or 4 times the numbers walking Ma Koromiko than prior to the path

We are soo excited by the summer weather that we are open from 10am at Days Bays for Watery fun!! Come down and join us for Kayaking, Stand up Paddle Boarding or an Icecream. 🚣🏻‍♀️🍦🌊⁠

Not seen this before…. Usually a southerly is offshore here due to the shape of the hill on the corner. This storm was a bit faster than I’ve seen. Unfortunately my weather station failed without power.

The latest sandcastle concept? - actually Pā on Days bay, probably washed away with the King tide.

High tide and a minor swell.
The new wall is taking it so far, with the current beach size (almost none after it was removed, but it has also risen half a meter in the three weeks since this lower wall was installed)
The upper wall is yet to be completed, you can see the wooden frames holding it ready for concrete behind.
