We’ve been taking some new photos and I am excited to share them with you, a combination a wide and bright and a more intimate framing...as The Artist’s House is such journey, from quiet and inspiring retreat feels, (one guest said to me it is like arriving into a giant hug) to a playful and expansive space, it is a challenge to chose the best shot! This is the Crystal Cave Movie Lounge… delicious and cozy with furry beanbags, big couches and surrounded by beautiful native plantings. You can curl up with the heat of the fire, lounge in the afternoon sun with the doors wide open, choose a book from the library, pour yourself a GnT or a cuppa tea… It’s pure magic! Family stays, women’s retreats, romantic getaway or a gaggle of your colourful friends, I can’t wait to host you 🧡💥🧡 Thanks for the stunning photos and the latest fabulous human to join The Artist’s House team, Jess!

What a team of volunteers!! We have plans, a dream that had been macerating away for awhile now and I decided to block off the house awhile and get a team of volunteers and wow, they are all amazing! Big day yesterday planting the last of the shrubs hanging about, clearing up last jobs before we got stuck into this… the chicken coop is now gone!! Thanks so much JB, Margaux and Jess 💥💥💥 we did amazing!!! Can’t wait to start the build 😂

I’m out planting today and as I walk the land seeing what gaps need to be filled or backgrounds that need changing, as I turned and headed back towards the house I noticed how many of my flowers are blooming… it’s so incredibly exciting! Thus berm was only planted Dec 24 and the second one Jan/ Feb 26… whoop whoop!

She’s always overseeing all projects and checking up on progress!

Appearing mysteriously when new guests arrive. Settling nearby taking in afternoon chats while she naps with one eye open.

Somehow knowing exactly where the good energy is.

I often joke that we simply run the house… but Lhotse is the one truly in charge of hospitality.

And honestly, every creative home needs a little guardian spirit like Lhotse :)

Life at The Artist’s House wouldn’t be quite the same without our fluffy little host making sure everyone is having the best experience possible. 🐾

Hello beautiful humans,

There are certain days at The Artist’s House where the atmosphere feels almost golden, where the simplest moments become the most meaningful.

Morning coffee shared slowly at the table.
Sunlight moving across graffiti lined walls.
An afternoon stretching open and unhurried, inviting you to read, write, dream, or simply sit and be.
Cozy rooms layered with art and texture, each corner holding its own quiet personality.

This house has become a living mood board of everything I love. Creativity. Warmth. Honest expression. Spaces that welcome you exactly as you are.

It is not just about how it looks.
It is about how it feels.

Feeling at home in your body.
Feeling inspired without pressure.
Feeling connected to yourself, to others, and to the land around us here in Aotearoa.

Every guest who walks through the door adds another layer to the story. A shared meal. A late night conversation. A slow exhale. The house carries all of it.
