Heading home with the show team, with a breakfast stop at Lake Tekapo. Another excellent result from our show team again being awarded colour Championships in our 3 colours of Fancy, Grey and Black.

Our Fancy Female NZ Summerhill Leopard Cammi was placed Reserve Champion Intermediate female and our Grey male NZ Mystic Grey Zeus placed Reserve Champion Intermediate male. Pur junior Fancy male NZ Summerhill Leopard Gladiator was pulled out in the line up of 8 in junior champion males and compared to the white and light fawn winners. A great recognition that our coloured alpacas fibre is up there with whites and light fawns.

Many thanks to Rachel and her team of volunteers for convening and running a wonderful show and our judge Diane Marks for well orated feedback on placings.

Now home to await birthing to start🥰

Once again we have been awarded the highly sought after Gold QualMark for our Alpaca Tours 🦙🦙🦙🦙We look forward to a busy summer once again. Baby time is just around the corner now - first due in 4 weeks and we have some exciting births due. See you on the farm!

10 years ago we fell in love with alpacas - its so easy to do!! Off went the sheep and on came the alpacas and now we have a beautiful herd of the critters producing wonderful fibre every year for us to use and turn into luxury wearable usable products.

Jessie works full time as a fibre artist from her studio on the farm beside our Wild Wool Gallery which showcases her work plus other alpaca products made by other NZ artisans and some small bespoke manufacturers we work with.

Book an alpaca tour and learn about these amazing critters, get up close and personal with them and let them charm you, we guarantee you’ll leave the farm feeling relaxed and as most of our clients say “That was the highlight of my time in New Zealand”. If you are a kiwi or local come on along as well as you will have just as much fun as all those visiting NZ do.
