We just recorded our 40,000th order on our REZDY system - it was to hire two bikes on 11th October - so we have made those bikes "free of charge" to celebrate our 40,000th order! Woopee!

There is a blurry line emerging between bikes, E assist bikes, scooters, E assist scooters with pedals, E assist scooters without any pedals, mopeds and powered motorbikes. GJ Directors Joe and Pam have been visiting Australia - E assist scooters are all the rage over there - sometimes we felt they posed the main risk to us riding on the beautifully formed cycle paths - sometimes by very young people at speeds somewhere near 50kph. With no helmets! They were scary.
We have been thinking of getting some E Scooters. They would in our view need under existing NZ law to be registered and we would need proof of drivers licence's to hire them out to folk - that's something that we don't need to do currently with our E Assist bikes. Anyway there is a bit of raru raru building up in Australian about all this - Police are seizing overpowered E Scooters and this came out today: Driver's licence mandatory to ride e-bikes and e-scooters, under 16s banned from riding solo under new Queensland laws.
The dude with this E assist scooter/bike told me it "had a range of about a weeks usage". The battery is that thing on the back carrier!
