Methven Heliski Heliskiing in New Zealand changed in 1986. Methven Heliski opened up untapped heli ski and heliboarding terrain in the Southern Alps, near Christchurch.

It also raised the bar of professionalism and safety for the NZ heliski industry. The Arrowsmiths lie at the head of the Rakaia and Rangitata Rivers. On the 25th of September 2024 we lost one of our guides, Brett Evans, in an avalanche in the Arrowsmith mountains.

Brett was a much loved member of our team and will be sorely missed. His infectious enthusiasm for skiing and being in the mountains was felt by everyone who had met him.
