Hello from the team at Shore Trips and Tours. We thought it was about time to say we are still here and yes we are still waiting to hear when cruise ships will return to NZ and Australian waters. It looks unlikely for this coming 2021/2022 season with Covid issues remaining a problem in Australia however we are ever hopeful. For now we are busy with domestic NZ tours via our sister business www.hinterlandtours.co.nz so if you're coming to NZ and would like to join one of our tours please get in touch. We would love to host you.

We are excited about the Australia/New Zealand travel bubble set to commence on 19 April between our two countries. Now we just have to hope that the cruise ships see it as an opportunity to start up operations this coming summer.
So we haven't posted for a few weeks so thought I'd share an article written about our company recently for Tourism NZ's Sustainable Tourism charter.

Tauranga’s transport and tour business, Mount Classic Tours, has pivoted from transporting international cruise tour passengers to school sports teams, community clubs and retirement home residents.

If you were on a cruise ship visiting the Port of Tauranga in the summer of 2019/2020, and had your passport stamped for a donation to funding the hatching and raising of a kiwi chick then meet Manuhiri - YOUR kiwi chick 💕🙂. Thank you so much for your donation. Because of your help she has grown to be big enough to be released into the wild and hopefully have chicks of her own one day. Truly special 💕

Every one involved in tourism in New Zealand should sign this petition, having heard the word our Prime Minister spoke at Whakatane on the 9th December 2020 at the anniversary memorial and watched her hug and greet the pilots and staff of the Kahu Helicopter company, i really hope she does something in her power to get the so out of touch WorkSafe team to back off. It was their organisation who signed off on the protocols, so in my mind the blame is equally on them way more than the helicopter pilots and companies who showed such courage in this devastating event. We were pleased to be able to offer our own limited support to provide transport to family's and crew from the cruise line in the days following this terrible disaster.

Sign and share the petition so that common sense may prevail.

We would like to sincerely thank all of our wonderful guests who have taken the time to share their experiences with others through the Trip Advisor forum. Without you we couldn't have achieved this accolade. So thank you very much.
And it's probably timely to say that despite the worldwide pandemic and no sure date of the return of cruiseships to the South Pacific we are still here and when the ships do return our team and tours will be ready and waiting for you.
