We've found a new favourite lunch spot! Portside, Marine Parade. The kids loved their meals (amazing fries especially 👌), mother in law raved about her salt & pepper squid, and I picked very well with my panko-crumbed mushroom risotto balls with smoky paprika capsicum salsa. Beautiful ocean 🌊 views too.

For our pooch guests....7 mins drive away is Pakowhai country park, AKA The Dog Park. Dogs can run free safely off-lead, explore the trees, splash in the river, socialise with other doggos, and try the obstacles in the agility area! It's a beautiful location that our dog loves!

For a lovely day out, drive north for an hour and head out to Shine Falls. Take your togs and a picnic! It is approximately 40-60 mins walk from car park to the falls. It's undulating but not steep. Sturdy shoes / trainers recommended rather than jandals!!! Also, please note that the last 12kms (or so) drive to the car park is on unsealed road, so make sure your vehicle can cope with a bumpy, dusty road! The falls are stunning!
