Wednesday saw our Tour Club day outing with Ken as our driver and host. This time visiting Central Hawke’s Bay gardens and curios. We packed in a lot - Tironui, Boat House Collectables, Patangata Tavern for lunch, and Kings Ridge Gardens in Waipawa. The weather was beautiful and spring was certainly the best time to visit.

A great ‘travelling’ day today for our South Island tour group. The weather was superb as we drove through the Waitaki Valley, including a great stop at the Benmore Hydro Station and dinner at the remote, and wonderful, Dansey’s Pass Hotel on the way to Ranfurly in the Maniototo.

From Adelaide we enjoyed a beautiful dinner, live music and yes, some dancing before boarding the Indian Pacific train for our 2 night journey to Sydney.
We had such a lot of fun, enjoyed fabulous excursions in Broken Hill and the Blue Mountains and ate like kings and queens. Wowza, it was a fabulous experience.
In Sydney we overnighted at the awesome Branksome Hotel before heading home.
Another amazing group and fabulous tour.

When Bay Tours heard about the new restaurant Eleven Thirty Three opening in the Pask Winery in Hastings we had to organise a visit for lunch. So glad we did! We were treated to three delicious courses. They have only been open for two weeks and have hit the ground running. 🥂

Monarto Night Safari was everything we’d hoped for and more.
We settled into the Resort and then met up a bit later to head out on our wildlife safari for a couple of hours. Most thought the highlight was seeing the two cheetah up close, good spotting tour leader Kerren.
We saw a rhino, giraffes, cheetah, zebra, ostrich, emu, and many types of antelope.
The next morning some of us ventured to the Monarto Zoo and saw elephants, bison and lions as well as 3 more rhino, and all of the above.
We had a lovely few hours visiting Hahndorf, before trekking back to our awesome hotel in Adelaide, Crowne Plaza.

Everyone enjoyed amazing weather during our three day tour. It’s hard to pick one single highlight. It’s a toss up between the Northern Explorer scenic train trip, Hamilton Gardens and The Wellington Tramway Museum. There was great food, good stories and lots of laughs too.
