Fiji Tourism Service Tax (TST)

There is an important update regarding travel to Fiji: a new tax was recently introduced by the Fiji Government that will affect the cost of tourism services provided in Fiji from 1 September 2026.

What is changing??
The Fiji Government has introduced a 5% Tourism Services Tax (TST), applying to qualifying tourism services provided in Fiji between 1 September 2026 and 31 August 2027.

Tourism services includes:
• Accommodation, refreshments and any other services by a licensed hotel;
• Any services provided in a vessel that is wholly or principally engaged in the carriage of tourists within Fiji;
• Meals and beverages in a licensed bar or club located in any part of a hotel;
• Inbound tour services;
• Water sports including under water activities, surfing and river safari; and
• Similar services listed in all the above.

What this means for you??

You should be prepared for the possibility of an additional charge of up to 5% on eligible tourism services during your stay in Fiji.

Further guidance from Fiji tourism authorities and our suppliers is being monitored and there will be further updates should there be anything else you need to be aware of or if there is any additional information that affects your booking.
