Ruggedy Range™ Wilderness Experience offers indepth natural history, birdwatching, kiwi spottng tours in Stewart Island, Ulva Island, New Zealand, since 2000.

Ruggedy Range™ Wilderness Experience is a small, local, owner / operated business based in Stewart Island. Our tours operate in Stewart Island and Ulva Island. We offer authentic natural history and birding tours and wilderness adventures for the discerning traveller. Tours include: guided walks, birdwatching, kiwi spotting, overnight walks on the Rakiura Great Walk and to Mason Bay and guided sea kayaking. Our dedicated vessel Aihe Eco Charters & Water Taxi is used for small group birding watching, wildlife and scenic cruises, including the Freshwater River and Mason Bay Fly / Boat Package. A water taxi service to destinations include: Ulva Island, Freshwater River, Port William....

Our scenic road tour and shuttle service and outdoor shop (for hire and purchase of outdoor clothing and equipment) compliment our business.
