Over two great days, we joined fellow isite teams from across the Central North Island to connect, share ideas, and experience some of the incredible attractions and hospitality Napier and Hawke’s Bay have to offer 🐧☀️🚴‍♀️

A huge thank you to our Napier hosts and local operators for making us feel so welcome 🙏🏽 It was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen relationships, learn from one another, and gather inspiration to better support visitors to our regions ℹ️

Ōpōtiki isite Visitor Information Centre – Closing on Sundays
From this Sunday, Sunday 7 June through to the end of August, the Ōpōtiki isite Visitor Information Centre will be closed on Sundays as part of our Winter Hours ❄️
Monday – Friday
9am – 4.30pm
Saturday 9am - 1pm
Sunday – Closed
This is a seasonal change only, and our usual hours will return in spring.
⚠️ A few reminders while we’re closed on Sundays:
- InterCity bus bookings can still be made online at www.intercity.co.nz
- DOC information is available online through the DOC website www.doc.govt.nz
- Public shower access will reopen on Mondays
- Pavilion bookings can still be made online through the Ōpōtiki District Council website www.odc.govt.nz/pavilions
- Visitor information, activities, and local business details can also be found online at opotikinz.co.nz

A decent amount of rain is heading our way, so take care on the roads, check your gutters, and keep an eye on local conditions

⚠️🌧️ Heavy Rain Warning in Place

MetService has issued an 🟠 Orange Heavy Rain Warning for Bay of Plenty east of Whakatāne including Ōpōtiki.

🕒 This warning is in effect from 6:00pm today (Monday 1 June) until 3:00pm tomorrow (Tuesday 2 June).

🌧 ⛈ We can expect 90–130mm of rain, with peak rates of 10–20mm/h, increasing to 25–40mm/h in localised downpours on Tuesday. Thunderstorms are also possible on Tuesday.

⚠️ With heavy rain expected, there is a risk of surface flooding and slips, and heavy downpours may cause streams and rivers to rise rapidly. Driving conditions may also become difficult.

As always, we recommend:
✅ Clearing your drains and gutters, and checking your property for any potential risks
✅ Avoiding low-lying areas where possible
✅ Taking extra care when travelling, especially during heavy downpours.
