🌊 6 Weeks Until We're Back on the Water!

Our 2026/27 season kicks off October 1st, and spots on Kopiko and Moonwalker are already filling for the early sailings.

If you've been dreaming of swimming, snorkeling and paddleboarding in a sheltered bay, then wandering native bush tracks through a working wildlife sanctuary, an experience most big tour boats can't get you close to, now's the time to lock in your date.

πŸ“… Book your Bay of Islands sailing adventure before the season fills up.

The workweek ends. The tide is lapping. The sun hits the water at that low, amber angle that only happens between 5 and 7 pm in a New Zealand summer.πŸ‘Œ

Our Sundowner Evening Cruise is two hours on the water β€” departing Paihia beach at 5:00 pm, sailing out through the inner Bay, and returning as the light descends behind the hills.

Welcome to Golden Hour. The pace is easy. The view does the work. πŸŒ…

It's the most popular way first-timers try sailing with us β€” and the most popular way locals finish their work week.

Sundowner season opens 15 December. We call this our summertime special, and it really is special. ✨️

We only run this cruise 3 days a week as a shared cruise so don't hesitate to book your Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday evening with us while you're visiting the Bay of Islands.

There's no better way to enjoy an evening in the Bay of Islands. πŸ‘£ β›΅οΈπŸ˜Ž

You've seen the hens nights with matching sashes and a bar tab.

This is the other kind.

A private sailing charter in the Bay of Islands seats your group on deck with the breeze in your hair, 144 islands around you, and nothing on the schedule except exactly what you want to do next.

No venue closing time. No DJ. No strangers at the next table.

We regularly host hens parties of 6-20 β€” nibbles, bubbles, a swim stop, and a beautiful sail right back to Paihia beach built right into the day.

The bride's job: show up. Ours: take care of everything from the moment you step aboard.

Spring and summer Saturdays are booking now. Three remain in November.

Right now, Rachael is sitting at an office desk under fluorescent lights. Luke is running electrical cables for a local sparky. Sound familiar?

Soon enough we'll be back at what we do best.

On 1 October, we wade in from Paihia beach and sail into 144 islands, hidden coves, and water so clear you can count the fish beneath the hull.

Most visitors see the Bay of Islands from a crowded deck. Our guests see it from the secret local spots that tourists haven't discovered.

The Bay of Islands doesn't change. The office does.

Our season opens in less than three months β€” and our most popular Saturday sailing dates are already filling for the pre Christmas season.

If October is on your radar, get in touch we'd love to take you sailing!

There are boats, and then there are YOUR boats for the day.

No shared decks. No strangers. No compromises on where you go or when you stop.

Our private charters give your group sole use of the vessel β€” you choose the cruise, the pace, and the inclusions. Our skipper handles the rest. Lunch in a sheltered bay, a snorkel off the beach, a cold drink as the sea breeze sets in.

We take private bookings for groups for to 20 passengers, and our 2026/27 season opens 1 October.

Weekend private charters in December and January typically book out by the end of August. We have five Saturday slots remaining across those two months.

If a private charter sounds like you, this is your calling πŸ“£

Winter quietly does its job here in the Bay of Islands. We respect it and take a breather, it's a beautiful time of year. 🏝️

The boats are polished and re-set. The crew are resting up. The Bay of Islands is sitting there, exactly as it always has, 144 islands and more blue water than you'll know what to do with.

We open for the 2026/27 sailing season on 1 October β€” sailing tours, private charters, wedding events, work functions, day cruises and evening cruises departing Paihia beach.

If you've sailed with us before, you already know what's coming πŸ‘Œ

If you haven't β€” this is the winter to decide that changes πŸ‘£ ⛡️ 😎

Sail with purpose, explore with care.

We're in tune with our environment. From the sea breeze to the native bush, the Bay of Islands inspires everything we do. Our sailing tours are designed to celebrate and protect this place we call home.

We love to immerse people in our environment. We share stories, create moment, spark wonder. Because real experiences lead to real connections.

When people connect, they want to protect. That's the heart of what we do. By inspiring care today, we're sailing towards a better future, together.

What a season it's been! πŸŒŠβ›΅

From our first sail in October to our final cruise this week, the Bay of Islands delivered some truly unforgettable moments β€” and it's all thanks to the incredible guests who joined the Barefoot crew aboard Kopiko and Moonwalker this season.

As we head into May, it's time for our annual off-season ritual. Starting next week, both catamarans are heading in for their well-earned spruce-up β€” a thorough once-over to make sure they're absolutely ship-shape and ready to sail again come October. Safety surveys, general maintenance & upgrades, a good polish, and all the behind-the-scenes TLC that keeps our boats sailing safely and beautifully through every Bay of Islands sailing adventure.

Keep an eye on our website and socials for updates β€” and if you're already dreaming of your next Bay of Islands sailing adventure, early bookings for the 2026/27 Oct - end April sailing season are open. πŸ—“οΈ

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this season one to remember. Any day Barefoot is a great day β€” and we can't wait to share more of them with you.

Kick off your shoes and we'll see you on the water! πŸ‘£
