State Highway 25A Taparahi between Kōpū and Hikuai suffered significant damage with the road collapsing after the North Island’s major storm event in late January 2023. The road is closed while repairs on this vital piece of SH25A are underway.

Please becareful travelling to and from the Coromandel. The road has now completely given way and people need to take the Waihi route, which I understand adds 50mins onto the journey.
