Packaging plays an essential role in minimising damage and extending a product’s life. Without appropriate packaging, there would be a greater risk of the resources used to make the product being wasted.

Paper packaging is not only the most recycled packaging material in Europe, it also utilises an exceptionally high amount of recycled material in its production.

In an age of constant screen time, consumers are showing a growing desire to unplug and reconnect with the tangible.

Print offers a physical experience that digital simply can’t replicate – no pop-ups, no distractions, just a more immersive and calming way to consume information.

Print media is not only relevant, it is sustainable. Printed books, newspapers, magazines, advertising mail and wider literature are recyclable, biodegradable and are made from natural and sustainable raw materials.

Think that going digital means going green?

While electronic communication is often promoted as the eco-friendlier option, it comes with real environmental costs including; a huge electricity demand, development of large-scale buildings for industrial servers, significant water consumption for cooling data centres and rising volumes of e-waste.

Meanwhile, paper comes from sustainably managed European forests - forests that have actually grown in area and are managed under strict regulation and easily recycled.

It’s time to rethink the assumption that digital is always greener.

Consumers want the right to choose how they receive their customer communications!

76% of European consumers agree they should have the right to choose between paper and electronic communications, especially when dealing with financial and service providers.

This choice is not only about preference but about accessibility, ensuring that those who cannot easily access digital services are not left behind.

In Europe, where almost all primary forests are protected, paper comes from sustainably managed forests where the cycle of planting, growing, and logging is carefully controlled.

To ensure the long-term health of European forests, sustainable forest management underpins how the paper industry operates and sources its main raw material.

Forests, if managed sustainably, play an indispensable role in climate and biodiversity protection.

When it comes to learning, paper still is best.

Research from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology shows that handwriting helps build richer neural connections between both sides of the brain, boosting memory, comprehension and overall retention.

Using print books or pens and paper isn’t just nostalgic, it reduces digital distractions, helps the user to focus and supports deeper processing of information.

Sometimes the simplest tools are still the most effective for learning.

What’s your one thing for forests? Let’s make it a habit.

Healthy forests are essential for all life on earth – ours included – and crucial to fight the climate and biodiversity crises.

This week, we celebrated forests globally, showcased their benefits, and shared ways to protect them. We amplified ways you can help too, even if you live or work far away from a forest.

Let’s keep going.
Let’s keep each other accountable.
Let’s make sure our forests stay forests.

What do our FSC-certified products mean?

The FSC-certified material we use in our paper/board shows our commitment to forests and those that depend on them. Choosing FSC-certified is our one thing for the forests.

Independent third-party evaluations confirm that the forest material in FSC-certified products comes from FSC-certified forests, or other reclaimed or controlled sources. This means

- no illegal harvesting
- no human rights violations
- no destruction of critical ecosystems
