Based on the Picton waterfront the Beachcomber Fun Cruises office have the best views – it’s amazing that we actually get any work done! But as wonderful as they are, it gets even better when you venture into the beautiful Marlborough Sounds or more specifically the Queen Charlotte Sound. Our boats are out on the water 364 days of the year, rain or shine. Every day is different, you never know who

or what you may meet, be it frolicking dolphins, playful seals or a lone blue penguin. We have a number of different options including our “World Famous” Magic Mail Boat, Ship Cove and Motuara Island Bird Sanctuary Cruises. Cruise out to a lodge for lunch, walk all or part of the Queen Charlotte Track, whatever you want to do we can make it happen. On this page we’ll share some of our photos, let you know what we’ve been doing and of course any specials. Hopefully you’ll get to know us better and we’ll get to know you too. Life’s great in the Marlborough Sounds but with friends it’s close to perfect!

We are long time followers of the amazing Christian Hull so when he was planning to visit the South island of New Zealand we reached out to see if he wanted to go cruising the Queen Charlotte sounds for a day.

The weather forecast wasnt looking good 😱 but dont let that put you of an adventure, the day was full of calm waters (no motion of the ocean vibes here, not his style) , sunshine, history, dolphins, little blue penguins, great food, lodges and so so much laughter.

New Zealand has so much on offer please put Picton on your itinerary to stop, stay and enjoy our beautiful waterfront town, explore the tranquil Queen Charlotte sounds and visit some of the best wineries in the Blenheim region.

Today, April 2, 2026 NASA and 4 astronauts orbit the moon once again, we’re wishing them all the very best on their journey 🌕
