Goat Island is the first and most popular marine reserve in the country and a day trip everybody has to do while Auckland region! 🐠
Considered one of the best places in New Zealand to see marine life close to the shore, Goat Island is situated near the Auckland town of Leigh. Its waters are a marine reserve, which means it’s protected from fishing. It also has a no-touch policy where you cannot take any of the sea creatures - including shells - away from there. 🐚
That way, the local creatures can thrive at Goat Island, while we can enjoy observing marine life in its natural habitat! 🐟

Located right at the point where the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea meet, Cape Reinga is the northernmost point in New Zealand and one of the most stunning places to visit. 🤩
Apart from stunning nature and amazing views, Cape Reinga is also famous for its lighthouse, a New Zealand icon. 🇳🇿
Constructed in 1941, the lighthouse was manned by a real person until 1987, when it was fully automated. It is now operated remotely from Wellington. The powerful 50 watt beacon of the lighthouse, which penetrates fog and can be seen for 19 nautical miles, is powered by batteries that are recharged by solar cells. ☀️
Many tourists generally visit Cape Reinga and the Bay of Islands on a same multi-day tour, which makes the journey even more special! 😄

Last night the Government announced that Auckland has moved to Covid-19 Alert Level 3 from midnight last night until midnight Wednesday, while the rest of New Zealand has moved to level 2. From now on, our team will be home-based during our normal hours and our tours are temporarily unavailable until we move to safer Alert Levels.
As you’d hope, we’re taking the responsibility of keeping our staff and customers safe and healthy.
We will be posting updates on our social media channels so keep an eye out.
