FALLING FOR TASMANIA?
The number of stunner Waterfalls in Tassie are too numerous to count. The State has them in spades! I've pasted a few below.

MONTEZUMA FALLS - follows a former tramway through wet, steep, thickly forested west coast country to one of the highest falls in Tasmania. It’s amazing to ponder how they ever built a tramway here. The track eventually comes right to the base of the 104m high falls.

RUSSELL FALLS - The two-tier Russell Falls tumble into a pool surrounded by tall ferns in the beautiful Mt Fields National Park.

WATERFALL BAY The name says it all. At the southern end of a small bay on Tasman Peninsula, a waterfall pours over a series of steps, finally taking a 100m leap over high cliffs into the Tasman Sea.

Port Huon is a small community with big, sweeping views of the Huon River, Bruny Island, D’Entrecasteaux Channel and the Hartz Mountains.
Once a busy trading port and the destination for international apple boats that transported and exported the region’s famous apples to the world. The original port remains and is a quaint reminder of the glory days of apple growing.
Today, Port Huon is a departure point for our wooden boat cruise up the Huon River during our 3 night stay in the area. Yet another wonderful feature of our 18 day Active Tasmania Tour. Put yourself in the picture and join us on 26 February 2026.

To wrap up our Costa Rica Wildlife Adventures, the final 3 days were at Manuel Antonio National Park on the Pacific coast (their Abel Tasman equivalent) spotting Spider monkeys, Tucan and swimming at beautiful beaches. What a catelogue of bio-diversity we have encounted...on a daily basis. Costa Rica is a 10 out of 10 for surprises!! Our stopover in Peru was yet another highlight- especially our Secret Food Tour. Please enjoy these last photo bombs, let me know if you would like a trip of a lifetime to Latin America...I have loads of suggestions!!😁

Costa Rica #3. We have moved inland now after an incredible visit and tour of a cocao farm to understand the process from bean to chocolate delivered in the most entertaining way...and oh my, the tastings!!
Along the way we encounted roaming Iguanas, more Sloth, coffee and ice cream! A rainy and wonderful walk around Arenal Volcano and Lake. The oozing lava stopped flowing in 2010 - I was last here in 2004 and witnessed the beautiful nightly flow of hot twinkly lava. How lucky was I.
Our accommodation is smack in front of the volcano cone...and time off here is tough(!) 🤭

A wee bit behind with a packed program and at times sketchy internet. Forgive the catch up post. Please enjoy these exciting wildlife shots we have encountered. The past days have been spent en route to Torteguero National Park, accessed only by a 1.5hr boat ride. Staying ecolodges past 4 nights. Early starts to catch the activity....Costa Rica delivers!!
We are now at Selva Verde Eco Lodge hunting and finding frogs. 😁

A busy winter visiting North Queensland, Japan, Brisbane, Niue and now rewarded with our final tour of the year to COSTA RICA!!
Its a long way. To make a real South American episode of it, we stopped 2 nights in Santiago. A day trip 3000m up to the Andes Lagoon was called for with a stop to check if their wines were still good. They were. Lovely break away from the city.
More flying required up to San Jose to start our 15 day WILDLIFE Tour, the 30° was a nice welcome.
Here is a photo record so far, including coffee plantation visit, local lunch with Hummingbirds and searching (and finding) Quetzel on an early morning walk. Enjoy!

Our Japan Hike & Bike tour continues with a fabulous couple of days adventuring on the southern seaside coast at Onomichi. Photos are enjoying the surrounding views from Senkoji Park (after a decent stair climb), the waterfront, arcades and busy harbours were a delight. Then a wonderful cycle on a section of the famous 60km Shimanami Kaido Cycleway marvelling at its incredible infrastructure, and loving the ease and flow of Island hopping. Icecream, swims, kayaking and ferry rides made this a memorable stop.
