There’s something mildly satisfying about arriving at world-famous beaches and realising you’re sharing it with… maybe three other people and a seabird.

Winter in Abel Tasman delivers exactly that. Calm conditions and fewer visitors mean you experience iconic bays at their most peaceful. Your water taxi gets you there quickly, comfortably, and without the summer hustle.
