So, what does an Abel Tasman day actually look like?

Option 1: Cruise it.
Stay aboard, take in the coastline and commentary and enjoy the park without needing to tackle a long walk.

Option 2: Cruise + walk.
Let us drop you into the park, enjoy a section of the Coastal Track at your own pace, then meet the boat again later.

Option 3: Make a bigger adventure of it.
Use the boat to access further into the park and build your day around walking, beaches and exploring.

Same national park.
Three very different days.
And plenty more combinations in between.

Spring school holidays are closer than you think. 👀

The Abel Tasman in September is genuinely magic - still quiet, starting to warm up, and the wildlife doesn't take a break for any season.

Our Kids Travel Free offer means two children can travel with one full-paying adult on select departures.

Winter wildlife report: the seals are very much still here, and they do not care that it's cold.

The colony in the Park is active right through winter, and honestly, this might be the best time to see them. Calmer seas, clearer water, and a lot less boat traffic means our skippers can take their time getting you a good look without a queue of other vessels behind us.

Keep an eye out too for shags diving for their dinner and the odd pod of dolphins who don't read the tourism brochures about “peak season”... 😉

Bring a jacket, bring your camera, leave your summer FOMO at home.

A bit of maths for a Sunday: since we started, our family has put more than half a million dollars back into this park and the community around it.

That includes supporting Project Janszoon's conservation work, helping the Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust get volunteers out into the park by water taxi, running the annual d'Urville Island Charity Cruises with Rotary, and subsidising water taxi transport for school groups so kids who live here actually get to experience their own backyard.

We also cover the Environmental Access Fee on every single booking - it's a small thing on a ticket, but it adds up to a big thing for the park's future.

When people ask Keith why he does it, his answer's always the same: “because we can.”

Feels like a pretty good reason to us.
