🤝 A new partnership supporting our community

We are delighted to celebrate the new partnership between Motueka isite and Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu, which will enable AA Driver and Vehicle Licensing services to be available from our Visitor Centre.

This partnership represents an exciting step forward in our commitment to being a welcoming community hub, supporting both local residents and visitors by providing more essential services in one convenient location.

A special thank you to our Board Chair, Leanne, and Darney from Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu Trust for helping bring this partnership together. We also acknowledge the Motueka isite Board, Hayley and everyone involved for their support.

We look forward to welcoming the community and continuing to grow Motueka isite as a place where people can find trusted information, practical services and friendly local assistance.

Collect your journey, one destination at a time!

Meet Anderson Castro, founder of NZ Travel Passport. Originally from Brazil and now based in Queenstown, Anderson created this unique travel keepsake to help travellers record and personalise their adventures around Aotearoa New Zealand.

The passport-style book features destinations throughout the country. Travellers can collect matching stickers and visit participating Visitor Centres and isite's to receive unique destination stamps. There is also space for photos, notes and special memories.

The idea was inspired by Anderson’s love of travel. He has 55 tattoos on his left leg, each representing a place or chapter from his adventures, his own way of “stamping my soul around the world.”

🎶 Save the Chanel - Benefit Concerts 🎶

One of our team members had the privilege of attending the piano concert at the Chanel Arts Centre yesterday Motueka Arts Council, and it was an outstanding performance. The exceptional acoustics and welcoming atmosphere were a wonderful reminder of how special this historic Motueka venue is.

More exceptional performances are coming this August, featuring talented local musicians and a blend of classical and Celtic music:

🎟 Entry by donation — $30 recommended

These concerts will raise funds for an earthquake-strengthening assessment and legal advice, helping the community explore how the Chanel Arts Centre can be secured as a performance and community venue for future generations.

We encourage our community to support this important initiative. Come along, enjoy some wonderful local music and donate generously to help save this much-loved building.

What a year it's been! 💚

Over the past 12 months, the Motueka isite team has had the privilege of helping visitors discover everything our region has to offer while supporting the tourism businesses that make it so special.

Here's what we achieved together during 2025–2026:

✅ Welcomed 25,028 visitors from New Zealand and around the world.
✅ Supported 60+ tourism businesses through promotion, partnerships and visitor referrals.
✅ Completed 20+ staff famil visits to strengthen our local knowledge.
✅ Published 7 operator newsletters to keep our tourism industry connected.
✅ Distributed thousands of visitor guides, maps and brochures.
✅ Continued to operate as the only official isite in the Nelson Tasman region, providing trusted visitor information seven days a week.

These numbers represent much more than statistics—they reflect thousands of conversations, recommendations, bookings, and memorable visitor experiences.

A heartfelt thank you to our visitors, tourism operators, community organisations, volunteers, Board members and partners. Your support and collaboration make everything we do possible.

We're excited for another year of welcoming visitors and showcasing the very best of the Nelson Tasman region.
