This summer I decided to become the student again.
For the next month, I’m living with a host family in Argentina. 🇦🇷
No hotel.
No English.
No comfortable routine.
Just full cultural immersion, Spanish every day, new foods, new customs, getting lost, making mistakes, and trying to understand another way of living.
I spend my life encouraging young people to step outside their comfort zones. Through Rooted Life Adventures, I ask students to leave home, embrace uncertainty, build resilience, and discover who they are by experiencing the world.
It felt important that I keep doing the same.
Because growth doesn’t stop when you become an adult.
If anything, it becomes even more important.
This experience is also part of my challenge as a member of the Board of Directors for the Gap Year Association. Every board member has committed to a personal challenge while raising funds to help expand access to transformative gap year experiences through scholarships, outreach, and education.
My goal is to raise $1,000 over the next few weeks.
If you’ve ever believed in the power of travel...
If you’ve watched a young person come home more confident after an experience abroad...
Or if you’ve simply enjoyed following my adventures around the world...
Would you consider making a donation through our GiveButter campaign?

Every gift—whether it’s $10, $25, or more—helps make life-changing gap year opportunities available to more students.
I’ll be sharing plenty of stories, photos, language mishaps, cultural surprises, and lessons from Argentina along the way.
Thank you for supporting both this adventure and the incredible work of the Gap Year Association.
