A stop at one of New Zealand’s most iconic landmarks!
No trip through the Crown Range is complete without a visit to the historic Cardrona Hotel. Established in 1863 during the Otago gold rush, it’s one of New Zealand’s oldest hotels and one of the few remaining buildings from the original Cardrona township. What began as a resting place for miners and travellers has become one of the country’s most photographed and beloved landmarks.
On our Queenstown to Wānaka tour, we stop here to soak up the history, grab a coffee, snap some photos, and enjoy the incredible mountain scenery that surrounds this iconic spot.
From gold rush tales to modern-day road trips, the Cardrona Hotel continues to be a must-see destination for visitors exploring Central Otago.
Join us and discover why this little piece of Kiwi history has captured hearts for over 160 years.
