At the start of the year, hopeful of summertime sunshine & swims, I packed up the car and the kids for a camping road trip. We headed to the West Coast then crossed through Hokitika & Lake Kaniere, then headed into Arthur’s Pass National Park.
While it hardly felt like summer, the weather never matter when the three of us are on the road. We are all our best versions. No toys are needed. The day is ours to design as we please. We make up games in the forest, explore new places, and chase each other on the trails.
These are the memories I’ll forever hold onto, forever be grateful for taking, because money will come and go, but their childhood only lasts so long.
