One of our favourite hikes in New Zealand? The Gillespie Pass Circuit. The 56-km Gillespie Pass Circuit Track is a 4 day loop, with next level mountain scenery, alpine vegetation, and river valleys filled with silver beech forest. If you're keen, you'll take a side trip out to Lake Crucible and marvel in the beauty of this wild alpine lake. Destiny definitely enjoyed her time on the hike!

Rock climbing skills, a huge part of all of our Adventure Guide Programs. Whether it's learning the basics like how to put on a harness and belay, building an anchor at the top of a climb, or learning the in's and out's of lead climbing - there is so much that can be learned within the climbing world, it's a never ending journey!

Ronald recently completed the New Zealand Adventure Guide Program and had this to say "My highlight from the program was learning everything about rock climbing because all of it was brand new to me and I now feel confident enough to take friends and family out for a climb. This now adds a new level to my outdoor adventures!".

We often get asked about how you will learn on program, and here's a short run down. 🤔💭 These aren’t classroom-based courses. Everything is learned in the field. You’ll spend your days hiking alpine passes, belaying on outdoor rock, navigating using topographic maps, and leading real groups under supervision. Programs focus on experiential learning, meaning you gain confidence, leadership, and decision-making skills in real-time scenarios.

Whether you're taking a gap year, switching careers, or adding outdoor qualifications to your resume, these programs suit a wide range of people. Many students are aged 18-35+, from all over the world, with a passion for adventure and a desire to grow.

Picture this, you've been hiking for three days, and your last day is approximately 8 hours worth of hiking, and a bunch of river crossings. You walk up to the river, you see a jetboat, you get your hopes up, you eyeball Jeff (our instructor), "is this our ride home?!", Jeff looks at you and nods. WHAT A LEGEND! 🚤 🌊

From river crossings to alpine ridgelines, the New Zealand students tackled the legendary Gillespie Pass with determination and teamwork. 🌄 Each step tested their endurance; and rewarded them with some pretty epic views! Now, they’re putting it all into practice during NZOIA assessments.

Getting the whole squad up a local crag in Wānaka! 🧗‍♂️⛰️ Not a bad spot to hang out, test your skills, and of course take an epic group photo from the top! The "Tombstone" is a popular and iconic feature with climbing on all sides, routes range from grade 17 to 20 on the front face. A must do when climbing in New Zealand!

Epic updates from our New Zealand Adventure Guide Program! 🚶‍♀️🌄 A week in Fiordland, hiking local peaks, cruising through Milford Sound, and visiting wild places. Time flies when you're having fun, and with only a month left on program, it's knuckle down time to start crossing t's and dotting i's in preparation for their upcoming NZOIA Assessments.
