❗Reefton Cinema screenings to pause temporarily between 18 June and 2 July 2026

Movie screenings at the Reefton Cinema will temporarily be on hold from Thursday 18 June to allow for staff leave 🗓

🍿Normal screenings will resume on Thursday 2 July 2026 in readiness for the school holidays.

📽 Only cinema screenings are affected – public information sessions will be hosted at the facility on:

✅ Tuesday 16 June (Reserves Management Plan)
✅ Thursday 25 June (West Coast Local Government Reform community drop-in session).

Council apologises for any inconvenience the short-term operating hours change may cause.

Buller District Council is issuing a Request for Quote (RFQ) to fill the position of Campground Manager for the Reefton Campground.

The campground manager provides the operational management of the campground, including guest services, facility and grounds maintenance, administration, and compliance activities 🏕

The contractor will ensure the campground is operated safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard, in liaison with Buller District Council as the property owner, and in a manner that reflects the Client’s expectations and community values.

⛺ Greet guests, check them into cabins, caravans or campsites

⛺ Maintain the facility including but not limited to buildings and machinery, mowing the domain grounds and camping areas, w**d eating, spraying, w**ding planted areas and gardens, and water blasting

⛺ Maintain and clean all the facilities

⛺ Carry out administrative tasks

⛺ Handle guest requests and complaints

⛺ Take accommodation bookings, manage reservation systems and maintain accurate records of reservation and payments

⛺ Clean, prepare and maintain high standards in facilities for community and visitor use

⛺ Keep up to date with public health requirements/restrictions

⛺ Respond to enquiries and requests for assistance from visitors

⛺ Order and/or purchase equipment and supplies, including fuel and stationery (within delegations)

⛺ Regular spring cleaning of facilities, including washing windows

⛺ Arrange contractors and staff (with prior approval of the Reefton Reserve Subcommittee).

The on-site Camp Manager’s house will be made available to the successful respondent while undertaking the duties under the agreement.

Water Conservation Notice Lifted – Inangahua Junction

✅ Council is pleased to advise that the water supply at Inangahua Junction has recovered well.

Following a period of reduced supply, the well intake flow has now returned to normal levels. The system has been closely monitored over the past two weeks, confirming that the supply is stable and operating as usual. 🚰

🙏 We would like to thank the community for your cooperation and efforts in reducing water use during this time. Your support has been greatly appreciated and has contributed to the recovery of the water supply.

The water conservation notice is now lifted.💧

SH6 UPPER BULLER GORGE, TASMAN – BRIDGE STRENGTHENING

Plan ahead for various works to strengthen the O’Sullivans Bridge, below is the work schedule:

• STOP/GO’s from Monday 25 to Friday 29 May, 7:30am-5:30pm
• STOP/GO’s from Tuesday 2 to Friday 12 June, 7:30am-5:30pm
• STOP/GO’s from Monday 15 to Friday 26 June, 7:30am-9am & 3:30pm-5:30pm
• 30-minute CLOSURES between 9am-3:30pm on the hour from Monday 15 to Friday 26 June
• STOP/GO’s from Monday 29 June to Friday 3 July, 7:30am-5:30pm

Crews will be working only during the weekdays. Road users are to expect DELAYS of 10-15 minutes when stop/go traffic management is in place.
