I'm Amy and Bliss Yoga and Adventures is my dream that I've been thinking about for many years! I started my Yogic journey about 15 years ago in Wellington, New Zealand when a friend invited me to join her at our first ever yoga class. We experienced shaky arms, shaky legs and feeling like a pretzel, in addition to also giggling about the difficulty of the class (even though we were relatively fit
!), but when that first class was over, I realized that I had experienced something new and extraordinary and that my life was forever changed. I continued practicing at the same studio and then as I relaxed in Savasana during my final class before I moved from Wellington, I received a strong feeling that I should go to India to become a Yoga Teacher. Over the next several years, I practiced with renowned teachers from around the world, attended 3-10 day long yoga festivals and was exposed to a variety of different yoga styles and practices. In 2018, I finally decided that it was the right time to take a pilgrimage to Rishikesh, India to become a Certified Yoga Teacher. Since then, I have also immersed myself into the world of Meditation by participating in and serving on various 10 day silent Meditation retreats. I like to provide a calm, safe space to help allow you to go deep within yourself and have a profound, moving experience. The classes usually include settling in and grounding into the practice, setting an intention for the practice, bringing the focus inward and to the breath (Pranayam) , movement through Asanas (poses), absorbing the effects of the practice during final relaxation (Savasana) and then a short Meditation. I look forward to seeing you on the mat! Another of my greatest passions is Paddleboarding! I first stepped on a Paddleboard (SUP) about 11 years ago in California and I was instantly hooked! The calm and serenity that I feel while I Paddleboard is so easeful and natural...and it's also a great workout while being out in nature!! All great reasons why I love it and will sometimes Paddleboard for hours! Combining 2 of my passions of Yoga and Paddleboarding only seemed natural and so I also offer SUP Yoga Classes! These classes are more challenging than just doing yoga on land, but it's a great way to fully release thoughts because your focus is more on balance and the poses. (These classes are very weather dependent and are best scheduled during calm wind conditions.)
