Bliss Yoga and Adventures

Bliss Yoga and Adventures Yoga Teacher
Lover of Nature and Animals
Traveler & Adventurer
Retreat and Workshop Facilitator Hi! My classes are unique every time I teach them.

I'm Amy and Bliss Yoga and Adventures is my dream that I've been thinking about for many years! I started my Yogic journey about 15 years ago in Wellington, New Zealand when a friend invited me to join her at our first ever yoga class. We experienced shaky arms, shaky legs and feeling like a pretzel, in addition to also giggling about the difficulty of the class (even though we were relatively fit

!), but when that first class was over, I realized that I had experienced something new and extraordinary and that my life was forever changed. I continued practicing at the same studio and then as I relaxed in Savasana during my final class before I moved from Wellington, I received a strong feeling that I should go to India to become a Yoga Teacher. Over the next several years, I practiced with renowned teachers from around the world, attended 3-10 day long yoga festivals and was exposed to a variety of different yoga styles and practices. In 2018, I finally decided that it was the right time to take a pilgrimage to Rishikesh, India to become a Certified Yoga Teacher. Since then, I have also immersed myself into the world of Meditation by participating in and serving on various 10 day silent Meditation retreats. I like to provide a calm, safe space to help allow you to go deep within yourself and have a profound, moving experience. The classes usually include settling in and grounding into the practice, setting an intention for the practice, bringing the focus inward and to the breath (Pranayam) , movement through Asanas (poses), absorbing the effects of the practice during final relaxation (Savasana) and then a short Meditation. I look forward to seeing you on the mat! Another of my greatest passions is Paddleboarding! I first stepped on a Paddleboard (SUP) about 11 years ago in California and I was instantly hooked! The calm and serenity that I feel while I Paddleboard is so easeful and natural...and it's also a great workout while being out in nature!! All great reasons why I love it and will sometimes Paddleboard for hours! Combining 2 of my passions of Yoga and Paddleboarding only seemed natural and so I also offer SUP Yoga Classes! These classes are more challenging than just doing yoga on land, but it's a great way to fully release thoughts because your focus is more on balance and the poses. (These classes are very weather dependent and are best scheduled during calm wind conditions.)

Holding your legs up against a wall for just five minutes a day can significantly reduce stress and anxiety, ease headaches, and promote better digestion. This simple practice helps keep you grounded and healthy! 🧘‍♀️🛏️

Planning for International Yoga Day

We are preparing for a vibrant and inclusive celebration of International Yoga Day. As this is a public and free event, open to everyone, we anticipate participation from both regular yoga practitioners and those new to yoga.

To ensure an enjoyable and accessible experience for all, the session will follow a gentle and welcoming structure:

🕘 Programme Schedule

9:00 – 9:15 am – Inauguration (Nilamani ji & yoga teachers)
9:15 – 9:30 am – Warm-up exercises
9:30 – 10:00 am – Basic yoga postures (asanas)
10:00 – 10:30 am – Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) practice
10:30 – 10:45 am – Prasad

We will also introduce a friendly challenge during the Surya Namaskar session: participants can try to complete as many rounds as they comfortably can in 30 minutes. This is purely optional and meant to encourage enthusiasm and engagement.

🙏 Please spread the word and encourage your friends, family, and contacts to join us for this special event. Let's celebrate health, harmony, and community through the spirit of yoga.

Join our New Moon Mini Retreat!

Rotorua…you’re in for a very special treat!

• Restore & renew with ceremonial cacao
• Soften your body with yin yoga
• Journey inward with live music crystal bowl sound healing

Close the day in a sacred circle, anchoring new moon intentions and reconnecting within.

Come home to yourself, gently and lovingly.

31 May
Hindu Heritage Centre Rotorua
7-9pm

Join us for a gentle restorative mini retreat aligned with the energy of the new moon — a powerful time to turn inward, reset, and begin again.

We will open our space with Maria Paula Anzola and a specially crafted ceremonial cacao blend infused with kawakawa and rose to help invite heart-opening, emotional clarity, and gentle healing. ❤️

Through Yin Yoga with Amy Jozwiak of Bliss Yoga and Adventures, we soften the body, ground the nervous system, and create space for stillness. A deeply nourishing live music sound journey by Carole Song of Sound will support inner reflection and relaxation, guiding us into deeper presence.

We close in a sacred honoring circle, where sharing, silence, and deep listening help anchor our intentions and reconnect us with the wisdom within. Together, we enter this new cycle by coming home to ourselves — gently, lovingly, and in community.

We warmly welcome you to join us.

Please reserve your space in advance, as it's important for us to prepare the right number of cacao servings for everyone.
