The Lakeland Queen is Back – Shining on Lake Rotorua Again!

What a beautiful sight this morning at 8am from Sulphur City Point – the Lakeland Queen has returned to Lake Rotorua after her big makeover! 🚤

She looks stunning, refreshed, and ready to welcome locals and visitors once again. This iconic part of Rotorua’s charm truly brings joy to our lakefront.

Let’s celebrate her return – have you spotted her yet gliding across the lake today?

Your kind words, stories, and the way you share your journeys truly fill me with gratitude and inspiration every single day.

I would also love to give a warm shout-out to the new owners of Fix Café, Richard and Tiffany. They are such beautiful local souls, and I know you’ll feel their warmth and passion the moment you order from them. ☕ Their food, drinks, and of course their coffee are absolutely delicious — so please check them out and show them some love and support.

With a heart full of gratitude, I just want to say a huge thank you for all your love and support for your very own Coffee Break News.

We quietly completed two wonderful years in June, and it wouldn’t have been possible without each one of you—your kind words, encouragement, and smiles keep us going.

I’m also very excited to share that something very cool and special is in the works… and I just know you’re going to love it! So please watch this space—can’t wait to bring it to you all soon.

With a full heart and so much gratitude, I want to say a big THANK YOU to each and every one of you who has supported I Love Rotorua Coffee Break News over the past two years.

Your kind words, encouragement, and appreciation mean the world to me. It’s been such a joy to share uplifting, positive, and community-centered stories with you — especially our Coffee with Vishal chats on the front page, celebrating the amazing local people who make Rotorua shine. ☕❤️

This little paper was born out of love for our beautiful town and its people, and I am so humbled to know that it brings smiles, warmth, and inspiration to so many of you.

Each edition is a true labour of love, created with care and a deep sense of purpose to honour our community’s heart and soul.

What a memorable day at TRENZ in Rotorua!

I had the incredible opportunity to attend this prestigious tourism event right here in our beautiful city. One of the true highlights was meeting the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Christopher Luxon. We had a truly engaging conversation about my journey with I Love Rotorua Coffee Break News and the special First Anniversary Magazine I created—featuring every front page from 2023 and 2024.

To my delight, the Prime Minister not only appreciated the magazine but also shared a warm smile and said,
“I really like the idea of Coffee with Vishal in your newspaper. I’m sure you’re drinking a lot of coffee—very good concept, keep up the good work!”
He even signed a copy of the magazine for me—what an honour!

The event was filled with positive energy—from inspiring messages by TIA, the PM, Minister, and TNZ, to a buzzing marketplace full of passionate tourism professionals. I love the goal of making the visitor industry the number one industry contributor to GDP growth. Great news also about the visa translation costs being waived, and Tourism and Hospitality becoming an NCEA subject. All working together with a purpose.

Beyond this, it was fantastic to connect with so many passionate professionals from Tourism Industry Aotearoa, meet our lovely mayor, and hear from the brilliant minds behind Air New Zealand, Auckland Airport, and Christchurch Airport. The energy and global presence at TRENZ brought such a vibrant buzz to Rotorua.

A heartfelt thank you to Tourism Industry Aotearoa for organising the media/guest pass for me—it truly means a lot.

Here’s to celebrating our city, connecting over stories, and yes… drinking plenty of coffee along the way!

With a heart full of gratitude — THANK YOU to each and every one of you!

The first anniversary of I Love Rotorua Coffee Break News was truly magical, and it’s all because of YOU — your support, love, and kindness made it unforgettable.

After 6 months of hard work, I proudly launched the 32-page First Anniversary Magazine (2023–2024) — a beautiful keepsake of the past year’s 22 front pages. It was an honour to release it alongside Hon. MP Todd McClay, Mayor Tania Tapsell, and with a special Karakia by Rawiri.

Thank you to everyone who joined the celebration at Indian Star Restaurant, and those who sent their love from afar.

What an incredible evening at the Latin American Fiesta during last Thursday’s Rotorua Night Market! The atmosphere was electric, filled with vibrant energy, captivating performances, and the heartwarming support of our beautiful local community. 🎉

We were treated to a rich tapestry of Latin American culture:
• Cantata Latina serenaded us with romantic boleros, cha cha cha, rumba, salsa, and merengue.
• Kunza Dance Group, a Chilean folkloric ensemble from Auckland and Tauranga, showcased their traditional dances.
• Sayawan Dance Community, founded by Sam Patangan, highlighted the talents of their youth dancers.
• Arakpachitas transported us to the Andes with traditional music from Peru, Bolivia, and Chile.
• Latin Zumba by John Pezo got everyone moving with a fusion of dance and exercise inspired by Latin rhythms.
• Takiri Musica, an Argentinian band, added their unique musical flair.
• Te Pakira Cultural Group from Whakarewarewa The Living Maori Village - Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao shared their stories through song and dance.

A massive thank you to Multicultural Rotorua and Rotorua Lakes Council for hosting such a spectacular event. Our community’s spirit truly shone bright, making it a night to remember. 🌟
