A day spent in contrast... From the tourist area of Yu Garden to the Sihang Warehouse,
the Greenhouse exhibition and a very long
metro ride..... (Got the ring loop in the wrong
direction!) Starting to feel like we know where we're going.
Marnie is having a wonderful time meeting new people. Children love him and he generates
lots of smiles, waves and chats. A delightful
boy aged about 7 or so walked over to him and shook his wing saying in very proper English: I
am very pleased to meet you. My name is
"something Chinese" but you can call me
Daniel. Welcome to China. If anyone wondered why we drag him around,
this is the reason.

A rather drab day in Shanghai but it should fine up later. We're fascinated by the constant stream of barges ferrying goods up the Huangpo river.

Night was amazing with all the buildings lit up.
Metro is easy to use and lots of English signage for us non natives.

Translation app is working fabulously. We bought some watermelon from a little local store. We managed to help her understand that we only wanted a piece and she cut it into bite sizes. Wouldn't do that in NZ...

Well we've arrived. The heat and humidity has hit us and we look hot and bedraggled....
No sleep on the flight as it was bumpy due to us dodging cyclones the whole way...
Otherwise, managed to navigate the maglev and metro and am beating the firewall!
