The Mountain Bike Rotorua Share the Ride for Xmas giveaway is back!

The last few months have been incredibly tough for some so we want to see if we can brighten someone’s day, and we need your help.

We have over a dozen bikes to give away to deserving members of our community in Rotorua.

If you know someone who you think should be one of this years Mountain Bike Rotorua Share the Ride for Xmas bike giveaway recipients then please send an email with a couple of paragraphs letting us know why you’ve nominated them along with their name and height to [email protected]

Nominations close lunchtime 23 December and we’ll be reaching out soon after to arrange delivery.

This is open to anyone and everyone in the Rotorua district.

We are very happy to once again partner with our amazing whanau at the Ngāti Whakaue Assets Trust with this cool internship opportunity.

E hīkaka nei te ngākau - Ngāti Whakaue Assets Trust is excited to partner with our whanaunga at MDA Experiences to create this awesome opportunity at Crankworx.

Crankworx is a global multi-stop series of mountain bike festivals. Crankworx Rotorua is the only stop outside of North America and Europe, held on te maunga takotako o Ngongotahā and across our wider Ngāti Whakaue rohe.

Crankworx Rotorua is delivered by MDA Experiences, owned by brothers Tak and Tu Mutu (Ngāti Hurungaterangi, Ngāti Whakaue).

We are looking for a Ngāti Whakaue individual who is willing to ‘get amongst’, make connections and grab hold of this unique learning opportunity, working as part of the super-impressive Crankworx whānau. This role will also provide the opportunity to gain experience and exposure across the MDA Group’s wide-ranging tourism and events operations.

Who should apply:
Anybody who wants to build up their event/tourism experience.
The role can be shaped depending on what you want to get out of it - whether you’re interested in event logistics, media production, trail building and maintenance, sponsors and the expo area, volunteer management, tourism, customer service, or a mix of it all.

Details:
- 8-week work experience role within the Crankworx team starting mid-September
- 20 hours per week, increasing to 40 hours during the event (25 October to 7 November)
- Paid the living wage

Criteria:
- Must be of Ngāti Whakaue descent
- Must have work reference/s
- Must be passionate about working as part of a team
- Having a full driver’s license is preferred but not essential

Proud and humbled to have been named one of the winners of the Qualmark 100% Pure New Zealand Awards. It was awesome to stand next to a bunch of our mates at the finalists event in and we were completely surprised to be named one of the 12 winners.

Thanks heaps to our industry friends, , and for all your support and for being awesome peeps to work, live and play along side. Nga mihi ki a koutou katoa.

We are feeling pretty humbled to be a finalist in the Qualmark Awards especially considering the caliber of our industry partners who made the list.

While it might not have been the busiest year for us we definitely appreciate that we have been able to continue our kaupapa of driving positive impacts for our communities, our culture and act as kaitiaki for both our people and place.

We thank everyone for their support and look forward to catching up with our industry mates in Otautahi for the awards event in a couple of weeks time.
