s to get you a little out of your normal comfort zone and give you a whole heap of opportunities to have unique and personal experiences. Founded 20 years ago by John Etherington and Mandy Richards. It all began back in 1999 in Kenya & Tanzania, which is still one of our most popular cycle tours. Since then the business has grown, and we have cycle tours in seven different countries. Tom Kearney picked up the reins back in 2022 and is now the guardian of Escape Adventures. We are driven by the reward that comes with creating and leading tours that will touch your soul and stay in your memory forever! As for the cycling - you’ll need to be comfortable spending the day on your bike or able to chug your way up a hill or two, but you won’t be banging out huge kilometres. It is the adventure and the experience that is important - the bike just happens to be the best way to travel!

Our Sri Lanka tour has covered some ground this week and even more amazing scenery. They started in Negombo, then pedalled to Anuradhapura. From there, it was on to Sigiriya, with a stop at the ancient forest ruins of Ritigala along the way. Then an early morning summit of Lion Rock which rewarded the group with one of the island’s most iconic views. So far the group has swapped stories, encountered some very cheeky wildlife, and savoured the delicious food along the way.

Dreaming of riding New Zealand from sound to sound? This could be your chance.

Our Sounds to Sounds adventure begins in Picton, with our first challenge taking us onto a section of the spectacular Queen Charlotte Track. From there, we journey south through some of New Zealand’s most remarkable landscapes, tackling legendary backcountry roads including the Molesworth and Omarama Saddle.

Along the way, we’ll pass through historic towns, follow purpose-built cycle trails and ride beneath huge skies through vast, sweeping landscapes.

And then, after an epic journey south, we reach Fiordland National Park. A spectacular, memorable and often emotional finale to an adventure you’ll never forget.
