King's Birthday Weekend: the ferry will be operating (weather dependent) Saturday, Sunday and Monday hourly ex Tairua Wharf, arriving Pauanui approximately 5 minutes later. 10am to 4pm.

Matariki is next month. We have been working with Tairua Hammer Hardware and Tairua School to produce winter fruit, veg and flowers to show at our Harvest Festival on Saturday 21st June at St Francis Church. We would love any gardeners who have produce to share to come and display it on this day and decorate the church. This produce will be shared among the community afterwards.

Severe weather is continuing to batter the top of the North Island as Cyclone Tam brings heavy rain and strong winds.

Towards Friday, the storm will begin to arrive in Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and the north of the South Island.

RNZ is the statutory civil defence lifeline radio broadcaster and will be providing vital information and updates as they come to hand. Check out the frequencies here.

Department of Conservation alert. Due to incoming severe weather, the Mautohe Cathedral Cove walking track will be closed from 5pm Wednesday 16th April.
There team will conduct an assessment on Saturday 19th April to determine if the site is safe to reopen.
