The section of the Abel Tasman Coast Track from Torrent Bay to Bark Bay is a popular day walk. At 7.8km the walk takes most people between 2 to 3 hours.

This provides some wonderful background into the Mārahau Pledge.

This provides some wonderful background into the Mārahau Pledge.

A collective vision by Mārahau businesses is thriving and giving back to the community and environment that has sustained them.

This is my take on Torrent Bay, another story in our latest Abel Tasman Magazine.

Torrent Bay is a village of holiday houses on privately owned land within the Abel Tasman National Park. There is no road access, electricity supply or permanent residents so it is largely a place for classic Kiwi summer holidays.

As tradition would dictate, we spent Easter at Tōtaranui with a bunch of fellow Riwakians at the end of March. It appears the secret is out that Tōt is a wonderful, wonderful place to camp in spring and early autumn with the camp being fuller than we've ever seen it at the same time for the past 12 or so years.

Tōtaranui campground could well be the best DOC camping ground in the country. Even when it's full to capacity it's well worth a visit!
