Our surrounding land, water and air are special to the Maori culture, and the use, and management of them must be carried out with care and respect. Our staff care, they are encouraged whenever possible to look after the environment, to pick up rubbish and to think of new innovative ways in which Waimarino Kayak Tours and The Waimarino Group as a whole can become a more sustainable business. 🌿🌳🌱

It saddens us to say that we won't be kayaking this Easter weekend! 😭

🌧🌧🌧With a large weather system on the way we have decided that with the strong winds and heavy rain forecast it will not be safe to operate our tours. 🌧🌧🌧

👉 We will have some crew out on Monday morning checking the conditions of the lakes and rivers that we operate tours on to assess any hazards and then make a decision regarding the operation of Tuesday's tours.

We wish you all a safe and Happy Easter! 🐰🐰Stay safe on the roads and drive to the conditions! 🚗 Remember water levels can rise quickly, if in doubt stay out! ❌💦

"Ellie was so fun and knowledgeable about the area and the glowworms and she was such a strong kayaker!! The tour started with great cheese, olives and meats, followed by a safety briefing where we received fleeces, water proof coats and life jackets. Even though we brought our own waterproofs with us, Ellie insisted we use theirs for our comfort so our belongings didn’t get wet. 💦

She also provided us with Ocean Bags for our phones/cameras! The kayaking itself was in 2s and took around 1.5 hours. We saw LOADS of glow worms and lots of stars - so I’d recommend doing this tour on a clear day so you can stargaze as part of the experience. We were lucky enough to see Mars! Great experience overall." 🌿🚣‍♀️✨
