Before school:
You can drop your child off to Coast Kids (in their pyjamas if they want) - children will be given a healthy breakfast of cereal, fruit, toast, juice, hot chocolate or milk. They will then get dressed, brush their teeth, hair etc. We will make sure their homework is done (if there is enough time) and we will then drop them to their school (or bus stop) 10 minutes prior to start or departure time. After School:
We pick up children from all Papamoa schools, children are taken back to the Coast kids club rooms where they receive afternoon tea of fruit, biscuits, sandwiches, juice and always a warm light meal. Afterwards children can choose from a range of activities like Rock climbing (Greerton), Drift trikes, Archery, Foam Pit with Trampoline, skate park, roller blades, adventure playground, bmx riding, arts and crafts, team building games, cooking etc.. There is always lots of activities to choose from. We also offer a 15 minute homework time for children who require this. You have until 6pm to pick up your

Autumn HP ✅

Nga mihi whanau for an amazing holiday programme. We finish the HP off with our Anzac Day. Baking and arts and crafts this morning then to finish we did our smoothies and outdoor activities. We were 100 all day from start to finish. Well done kids and well done to all our leaders for their first HP with us. We will see you in term 2. Take care whanau.

Today was April Fools day at the center. We started off the morning doing our puppets that turned into face masks, as well as waffles. We ran out of time so we had to run it back after lunch for our last 2 groups, as well as do some other games. Proof is in the waffle… I mean pudding. Photos for your very eyes.

Tomorrow is last day of our HP. It is a special day to commemorate our fallen soldiers who went to war many moons ago. We ask all who have a poppy to show it proud for a soldiers. Let’s finish strong.

Autumn HP 🍂: Day 5 ✅

Pool day done right!
We hit up Welcome Bay Hot Pools today and WOW — what a day! The sun was shining, the water was warm, and the smiles were non-stop. The kids had a blast swimming, splashing, and soaking up the fun! Big love to the awesome crew at Welcome Bay Hot Pools for having us — you guys were legends! 💦☀️

The tamariki were total stars — super well-behaved and full of good vibes. We made the most of every minute and stayed right till the end!

Come the afternoon… things got reeeeal quiet. The kids used up all their energy at the pools, so it was chill-out time. Couch, calm, crafts — you name it.
We wrapped up our food activity too, but most of the crew were too zonked to eat — fair enough after that much fun! Their treats will be waiting for them tomorrow!

Another awesome day in the Autumn Holiday Programme! Let’s see what Day 6 brings…

Autumn HP 🍂: Day 4 ✅

Today brought wild weather with strong winds and bursts of heavy rain 🌧️💨 but that didn’t stop us from having a full and fun day indoors!

We kicked off the morning with a baking session 🍪 that had everyone excited – the results looked (and smelled!) amazing, perfect for an afternoon treat. Alongside baking, we gave our bead activity a go 🎨, but had a bit of trouble with the iron not heating up properly – we’ll give it another shot soon!

Lunch was indoors 🍽️ and we managed to squeeze in a few energetic rounds of Master Tag 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ throughout the day to keep bodies moving and spirits high. In the afternoon, we continued with a few group games inside 🎲 and wrapped up the day with a fun Easter egg scavenger hunt around the centre 🐣🔍 – a sweet way to finish off a tough weather day!

We are closed Friday and Monday ❌ but back open for business on Tuesday ✅. We are heading to the pools 🏊‍♀️ so come packed with swimming togs and a towel! Enjoy your weekend, whanau. Stay safe in the weather! ☔

Autumn HP 🍂 : Day 3 ✅

What an amazing day we had today!
We hit the road from Coast Kids Greerton and headed to Wonderworld 3D Maze in Rotorua!

The kids had a blast navigating the giant maze 🌀, feeding the adorable rabbits 🐰, exploring the glow-in-the-dark maze ✨, and solving some super cool kids’ puzzles 🧩. So much fun, energy, and excitement!

After all that exploring, we were ready for food and free time! We stopped at Puketawhero Park 🍃 for lunch and some well-earned chill time in the sun ☀️. Then it was back to the centre to wrap up a big, happy day.

Everyone was tired but smiling, and we’re so proud of how well-behaved and enthusiastic the kids were today!

We aldo got to celebrate a birthdayy today. Happy Birthday Indi 🙂 thank you for the yummyy treats!!

Autumn HP 🍂: Day 2 ✅

What a block-tastic day we had at the centre with our Minecraft Day—a full-on adventure from start to finish!

We kicked off the morning diving into all things creative, starting with Minecraft-themed arts and crafts—kids brought their imaginations to life, building and decorating their own pixelated characters, swords, and creatures straight from the game world!

Then it was off to the kitchen where the real crafting began—baking time! The kids whipped up some delicious treats, including our fun and cheesy “Mouse Trap” food—a creative combo of spaghetti, buns, and melty cheese. Let’s just say the smell was irresistible, and the taste didn’t disappoint!

After lunch, we took our energy outside with a mix of outdoor games and challenges, letting everyone burn off steam and work together like a real Minecraft team. There were laughs, teamwork, and lots of running around—just the way we like it.

To finish off the day, we cooled down by enjoying our morning baking and reflecting on all the fun we had. The kids were buzzing with excitement—and a little sugar—by the end!

Autumn HP 🍂: Day 1: Park and Movies

Was a good start to the week. Kids were vibing, good energy in the center before the movies. Got to the park and managed to have a good run around and then finished off with a bit of lunch before heading to the movies. Minecraft was good! Very highly rated, so highly rated that the director had to send out comms about a TikTok Trend that we had to have an extra conversation about our behaviour at the movies. But we were good and they were listening and paying attention. That’s a win!! 🙂

We are in center tomorrow. 7 day HP this autumn.

Over the term this year, we’ve started the Friday challenge where the kids who have been demonstrating coast kids rules and outstanding behaviour get to compete to see who takes out the challenge. So far we’ve had 3 winners this term and kids are starting to realise how cool the prizes can be. We’ve offered money (not the kids money they drop around the center 🙄 and not a bribe either), as well as some blocks of chocolates as well. Last week was the cheeseburger challenge where 5 kids got to go against a leader, winner takes what’s in the bag. It’s a fun time this term working more with the kids and getting them to really show us how responsive they are to instructions as well as responsive and awareness to those around them wether a kid is in need of a friend or something needs to be tidied up.

Baxta Goodare was our winner last week, well done Baxta 🙂 instead of keeping the prize for himself, he offered to give it to his younger sister (no brownie points here bro, you supposed to be a big brother like that 🙄😂) but well done Baxta.

Kia ora whanau.

A lot has been happening in the last while so now is the perfect time to do some acknowledgements.

First off we want to welcome our new staff on board this year. Most of you have already seen them around the Centers. Be sure to say hello to them if not. They don’t bite hehehe.

Next thing is staff acknowledgements. The reason for bringing on new staff is that we’ve had to say goodbye to a few in the last 3 months. As we finish off February. We want to send off our staff with a proper farewell for the next chapter in their lives, wherever that may be.

We’ve said goodbye to 5 staff who have been very instrumental in the programme the past year. Our farewells going to our lovely Ladies: Ashleigh, Eden, Kery and Teina, as well as one half of the twin towers, Anaru. We acknowledge their hands in the work to make our programmes work at coast kids, wether it was supervising holiday programmes, before school or after school care at our Pyes Pa In School, ACG and Greerton Centers over the past year.

The effect of them leaving hits massive for us but also personally for me as theyve lightened the load on me to help in other areas at work, But where one can only go so far, then it is time to find the next boundaries of their lives.

So with that we say thank you, Nga Mihi, and take care you guys. Appreciate you all for everything you did with your time at Coast Kids. 💙💙💙
