It is abit surreal looking at the shadow of what was... the hint of the name The Arty House is left behind on the wall that is now truly free to become a new dream. The Land at 372A Wairoa road is still seeking a new owner to create a dream, life, family or passion. it no longer is The Arty house, it now is 3.4 acres of organic, permaculture based lifestyle with a cottage and business space for a home enterprise with a rather large car-park waiting to morph into the next thing. I am excited to see what will be next!! is it fir you?

Only one week until we gather, eat dance and play to the final page of The Arty House story as we have known it. Come and join the spirit of celebration and connect to this amazing place for the closing do, the final fling and the last chance to dance. I feel huge waves of emotions that flood with gratitude,love and appreciation. Im reflecting on the capacity this special place has to create positive social change and attract beautiful stories of learning through shared community and amazing healthy food systems to support into the future. I am so proud that I thought of it!! THE LAND IS STILL LOOKING FOR ITS NEW OWNER TO CONTINUE WITH THEIR OWN DREAM ...what dream could you think up? what vision could you create? what amazing foundations are here to begin on... is it for you? Do you have a dream calling that wants to come to life for your family or service...

Big news from The Arty House...

After much thought, I have this week listed the property for sale as it is now time for me to find a new dream. Please share the attached link so we can find the next person/group to continue expanding this property.

What an amazing experience it has been to grow The Arty House over the last 7 years to what it is now; a creative community, with alternative ways to wellness based on permaculture principles of living.

Thank you to everyone who came here to participate, share, heal, support and grow this unique place. Without you it would not be all that it has become.

The Arty House will continue as is until the end of September, after which I will be travelling and exploring new possibilities.

I have lived and journeyed for 25 years on this special piece of land and will leaving it with joy and sorrow.

Contemporary Collage will be a fun and interactive day where through deconstruction and recreation using collage as our medium we are challenging our stories and beliefs we hold and developing our ability to solve problems and reconstruct solutions. We will also be looking at upright construction and building concepts within a group to learn from each other about ourselves.

For those looking to deepen their body of knowledge in the education and social services this is an empowering workshop to explore group process / group strength / group skills

Leo Mufasa Murray is another one of our powerful members at The Arty House Creative Community. He has been an incredible warrior to our slice of paradise, always on the mission and a true advocate/inspiration for creating and living positive change for the future. Leo runs his own business Why Waste - an ethical enterprise setting out to help the region reduce its’ impact on the earth by providing businesses (and events) the opportunity to reduce their waste to landfill. - how cool is that?

I believe he speaks a beautiful truth in that we are trying to "coexist with like minded humans and deconstruct the separation that we seem to have wound up in in our society"

As we work together on the community to harvest the last of summers produce - the arty house gardens mature and the food forest becomes more self sustaining instead of needing our constant care - leaving us more time to see the beauty in the garden while also enjoying the fruits of its labors.

An integral part of living as community is living in harmony with nature, and what mother earth provides us. Sinking into the land and listening to what she needs while appreciating what she gives is vital to a more balanced life. And then there is something so special when whats on your dinner plate has been freshly harvested.

You all certainly picked up your paint brushes and added to your beautiful canvasses that is your life! Thank you all for sharing and making the weekend as special as it was.

We are truly blessed in our community to have abundance flowing through in so many forms. Over the weekend the ever talented Tara Spice debuted her newest venture Tara Spice Creative and hosted her first Twilight Banquet.

It is such an honor to have such skills showcased to the public from right here in our backyard as community. Not only were our bellies nourished - we also gained knowledge about healthy living, wholesome foods, trading/supporting locally and what you can do when you take your passions and share them with others.

Tara Spice has been a fundamental member of The Arty House Creative Community for a number of years now and its so special to support her as she blossoms further. Thank you for all that you do and bring to us here. We so look forward to all the exciting things that are coming in the future.

The very first Twilight Banquet. A pop-up plant-based dining experience, serving 5 sumptuous courses straight from Tara's kitchen to guests outdoors, banquet-style.

Guests are treated to an immersive experience in creative taste expression.
