It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the passing of our friend and colleague, Mark Hollows, on Saturday 13th June 2026.
Mark was a much-loved brother, father, uncle, grandfather, friend, mentor, and a true Fiordland pioneer. A legendary aviator, he dedicated his life to the skies and played an important role in helping us do what we do in the mountains we love. His contribution to our business, aviation, and the wider Fiordland community will never be forgotten.
A colleague like no other. He generously helped shape and inspire generations of pilots through his guidance, wisdom and example. Regularly dropped by to catch up with the front office team and loved to gather the team for a drink after a days work. He was a trusted friend, a mentor to many, and someone whose presence left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Our thoughts are with Mark's family, friends, and everyone who worked alongside him or shared in his adventures.
The Hollows family would be grateful if anyone wishing to share stories, memories, or photographs of Mark could email them to [email protected]. A signing book is also available at the Black Dog Bar.
A service to celebrate Mark's life will be held at the Aerofix Hangar, 75 Aviation Drive, Manapouri, on Thursday 18th June at 1:00pm, followed by a private burial. Everyone is welcome to continue the celebration of Mark's life afterward at the Te Anau Club, Pop Andrew Drive.
Rest easy, Mark. You will be deeply missed. A true legend of Fiordland.
