I’ve been doing some sun gazing today as it’s the most beautiful nearly- Spring weather and the sun is out in fine form!
I faced the bright rays with my eyes closed (important!) and focused the most intense light on my forehead.
As I sat, I began to feel the stirring of my third eye starting to open and kick into action.
What does this feel like? Why does this happen?
It happens because we have a gland in the middle of our brains - pretty much right in line with the space between and slightly above our eyebrows - and it thrives on sunlight to function properly.
This is the Pineal gland. Spiritually speaking, it’s called the third eye. If you see pictures of it, it actually looks like a pine cone.
When it’s closed or damaged, it looks tight and small - like a new pine cone, but when it’s happy and open, it’s more like an older, mature pine cone, with it’s little “scales” unfurled and relaxed.
The Pineal gland is responsible in the physical context, for the healthy functioning of the production and secretion of the hormone melatonin.
Melatonin helps balance the sleep/wake cycles in our brain, contributing to a good rhythm for our minds and bodies to rest and operate in balance.
It also supports our moods and keeps us feeling bright and positive when all is functioning well.
As the Pineal gland needs bright light (preferably natural sunlight) to stimulate melatonin production; it’s no surprise that many of us get a bit miserable and lethargic during the colder months or when there have been long periods of no sunshine.
There are lots of ways to help with this deficit, but that’s another story lol.
I want to have you become aware of the very powerful spiritual activations that can occur through stimulating your third eye.
Sit quietly and and either face the sun or just focus on the centre of your forehead.
As you get used to doing this, you will begin to feel a strange sensation above your eyebrows.
It might take quite a while before this happens, so make sure you meditate regularly to practise and get used to opening up.
The feelings might be like a tightening or stretching on your forehead, a tickling or crawly sensation or a pulsing like a nerve or tick.
This is a sure sign your third eye is waking up!
Once you feel something happening, you may also see swirling colours and perhaps a large eye or eyes appear in your mind too!
It doesn’t matter if you don’t recognise the eye as your own.. it doesn’t really work that way. Any nice friendly eye or eyes will do haha.
Sometimes even animal eyes will look back at you! There are no right or wrongs unless you feel scared or uncomfortable.
If this happens, stop immediately and ask your guides to help clear any negative influences that may have been opportunist. (You should always do protection work around yourself before any meditation anyway).
As you become more at ease and used to practising this way, it will probably just take you a thought about your third eye or a few moments of relaxation to get it to start stirring and opening up.
Being able to utilise the beautiful spiritual gifts you may discover once you begin to support and work with your Pineal gland/ third eye might take you on wonderful journeys to higher paths of awareness and understanding!
Bright blessings everyone 🌞🌻
