We regret to advise that after 20 months of closed borders due to Covid 19 and its variants we are left with no choice but to closedown our touring business. The foreseeable future remains bleak with regard to international visitors coming to New Zealand.

We have many wonderful memories of past tours which we will always treasure.

Today started with some retail therapy in Dunedin and then a trip out to Port Charlmers. We found a great lookout and a ver colourful garden. We tried to get a good look inside Forsyth Bar Stadium on our way back into town however no luck there, just peeked through the fence!! We headed to the coast again and had a great coastal drive.

We did a back track this morning to see Mount Aspiring, and it was spectacular, then we headed to Dunedin. We traveled via Cromwell then headed down to Alexandra. I wasn’t sure what the small plant with all the pink flowers were so stopped to look. I only needed to pick some to realise it is thyme!! We then came across some spectacular rocks and an old stone cottage built by the Mitchell brothers, a couple of stone masons from the Shetland Islands. It is still very solid today. So all in all a great day. Tommorow we will tiki tour around Dunedin.

We found the end of another road yesterday, the Matukituki Aspiring , right up to Mount Aspiring Station, a great drive if you love big scenery and deer, sheep and cattle. All the waterfalls were running well after the recent rain so some spectacular sights. We didn’t get to see Mount Aspiring, the cloud was hanging on the top. On our way out to the Transport Museum in the afternoon we found this lovely lavender tractor!! Today we head back to Dunedin.

So after some technical glitches I’m finally able to bring you an update. We flew to Dunedin on Wednesday and Thursday headed up the coast and inland to Tekapo for 2 nights. Yesterday we took a side road and went up the eastern side of Lake Tekapo until we couldn’t go any further. We had great views of the Lake and mountains. In the afternoon we took the western side of the lake and saw some great views and plenty of merino sheep.Today we have traveled to Wanaka. We did another side road and up the side of Lake Hawea. We are now relaxing in Wanaka.

We had a great time yesterday meandering around the coast on our way up to Auckland. We were able to sneak in from the side and avoided the traffic. We stopped at Kawakawa for lunch, such a lovely Bay, very peaceful.we went for a drive East from Kawakawa around to another small bay that looks back over to the Coromandel . Today we will have a look around Auckland .

Another sunny day on the road exploring, we got away from Lottin Point in good time so did a small back track and headed into a huge valley inland. The last station on the road is Te Kumi, 27 kms inland, a very isolated place to live, an interesting drive though. Tonight we are in Ohope listening to the sound of the sea and looking forward to more adventure tomorrow .
