Hakanini surf school and rentals , providing lessons and rentals at the Papamoa domain! Papamoa Haka Nini is a new age Surf rental and surf school.

With the rare ability of being fully mobile. Operating on beaches throughout Mid to North island we can provide both private rental and surf lessons. Thomas Botting owner of Haka Nini has a passion and affinity for the stunning beaches and excellent surf that New Zealand is so lucky to have on its backdoor. With a broad NZ based knowledge of NZ Surf beaches, Thomas also has International experienc

e running Surf rental shops, and surfing the big waves of the infamous surf town of Pichilimu in Chile, whilst working alongside US shaper Kris Cabezas. Tom also backpacked a month in Easter Island surfing with the locals living the dream. In fact the name of ‘Haka Nini’ is derived from the Easter Island/Rapanui langauge of ‘Pascuan’. Meaning 'to Surf'.. With Haka Nini’s ability to be a mobile Surf School and rental unit, the flexibility for groups to simply ‘rock up’ to a beach and have all equipment ready for rent, and lessons for beginners through to Intermediate. Ask Tom about corporate rates for Team Building corporate trips. Whether you are a backpacker needing a Board and a wetty for a 2 hour paddle, or you’re a local weekend warrior wanting to give surfing a crack. Haka Nini has the facilities to cater for everybody!
