Did you know….

The Rydges Wellington Hotel originally opened on 25 January 2007, under a different brand name, and was Wellington’s first purpose-built star rated hotel in over two decades, winning a NZIA Wellington Architecture Award for hospitality & tourism.

Architecturally, it was designed with notable features include vertical concrete fins, sawtooth façades, full-height glazing, and projecting roofs, contributing to an elegant skyline presence, and angled setbacks to maximise harbour and Parliament views.

Standing at approximately 57 m tall, it ranks among Wellington’s top-tier skyline structures.
