👋 Meet Rahul, the new operator of the Hutt Saturday Market!

You may know it as The Riverbank Market, but with a new operator comes a new name and a new chapter for this much-loved Lower Hutt Saturday tradition.

Rahul is no stranger to the market. He has been a vendor for the past 10 years and is also the owner of the Chaiwalla food truck. Now, he’s excited to step into his new role, continue working alongside the stallholders and bring together the fresh produce, food and local stalls people know and love.

Meet Cholatid and Kick, the owners of karanthai.eatery in Wainuiomata 👋

What started as a food truck has blossomed into a warm, family-run eatery serving homestyle Thai food made with plenty of care.

We tried their crispy pork and yes, it was every bit as crispy and delicious as promised. Their green curry had so many layers of flavour that we couldn’t stop going back for more.

When we asked Cholatid and Kick why they chose Wainuiomata, their answer was simple: the community is incredibly welcoming and supportive ❤️
