The Company NZ specializes in Hip Hop Dance and also offers other dance styles in order for students to grow and become an all round dancer. The Company NZ is based in Kilbirnie, Wellington and was established in 2010 to help develop and strengthen the street dance sector in Wellington. Through The Company NZ dance studio, you can learn from some of Wellington’s leading Street Dance Choreographers

who have all represented New Zealand in their craft. We pride ourselves in offering an environment where students can learn, interact and grow to their full potential. Not only do we focus on developing and strengthening dance skill, we also focus on helping people achieve their goals and dreams through dance. We support and welcome people from all walks of life regardless of where you are from, age or ethnicity. We would love to work and share this amazing experience of dance with you or/and your child at The Company NZ.

The Company NZ presents ‘Legacy.’
The Finale of what has been a magnificent 12 years of being the heart of street dance in the capital. Legacy promises to be the most entertaining, exhilarating and memorable Hop Hip Xposure in history.

The show centres around the beginnings, evolution and extraordinary outcomes TCNZ has delivered since establishment in 2010. A mixture of dance and interactive AV media will have audiences wanting more and gaining an insight into the Legacy and impact TCNZ has had in the community.

What an amazing night! Congratulations and well done to all the competitors at the Shakedown Dance Competition 2022 in Nelson. Everyone was 🔥!

The Company NZ did amazing and they all left with a Medal:
- Riley Anslow 🥇11-12 Year Old Solos
- Asia Hughes 🥇13-14 Year Old Solo
- The Capital 🥈 Open Megacrew Division
- Stellar 🥇 Open Megacrew Division

A huge shoutout to our Junior Megacrew ‘Stellar’ (8-13yr olds) who were the only Junior Megacrew in the Open Division and walked away as Champions. What an amazing Achievement 💯

We are super proud of all our solos and megacrews!

Thank you to all our friends and families that supported all our dancers with their journey to Nelson. We couldn’t have done it without your support.

What a Night at HHU!

The CAPITAL were outstanding and came away with the Bronze Medal tonight🥉! What a performance. They definitely shook the room with their original piece! Super proud of this team.

And STELLAR, back to back to back National Hip Hop Unite Champions🥇!!! And selected to represent New Zealand at the World Champs in Portugal this year! You all were amazing tonight and we are all extremely proud!

Congratulations to both our megacrews! Awesome work tonight and we are looking forward to the next competition.

In association with Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori, we are excited to announce “Matariki Hunga Nui” (Matariki of great gatherings).

This is the first major street, jazz, contemporary dance production of its kind, celebrating Matariki in Wellington!

Matariki Hunga Nui is a dynamic dance production highlighting the diversity and commonality of Matariki celebrations across the Pacific i.e. Matariki (Rapa Nui, Rarotonga, and Aotearoa), Matali'i (Samoa), Makali'i (Hawai'i), Mata-ariki (Tuamotu) and Mataliki (Tonga, Tuvalu and Tokelau).

This spectacle incorporates the pulsating beats of hip hop dance with jazz, contemporary and traditional dances of the pacific and Aotearoa. Proudly featuring Tautua Dance and Te Kāhui Kuratea.

Join us as we celebrate Matariki with this major production, this is going to be epic!
