| MFAT says it has raised its travel advice for Israel, advising "all New Zealanders to leave" the country - and the occupied Palestinian territories - as it exchanges fire with Iran.

"We strongly urge all New Zealanders in the region to register with SafeTravel. During events like this, SafeTravel is the main tool MFAT uses to communicate with New Zealanders on the ground."

About Sheridan Pugh Travel Manager

With 25 years in the travel industry, my love for travel started many moons ago with Thailand - where I lived as an exchange student for 12 months. I hold an Advanced Certificate in Travel Studies (AIT 1992), am passionate about experiencing different destinations and using my knowledge to plan amazing holidays for my clients.

I’ve had the opportunity to travel to 5 continents and a wide range of destinations including the USA & Hawaii, Canada, UK, Austria, Australia and many countries in Asia with India being one of my favourites (apart from my second home Thailand, of course). I’ve travelled extensively to the South Pacific, and South Africa is definitely a destination everyone needs to experience!
