Thank you to everyone who has supported Piwakawaka Tours over the last few years. Unfortunately in light of the current situation we have decided to close the business to focus on family and other more covid friendly opportunities. We may reassess this in years to come when the world has recovered more from this pandemic.

It’s coming!

Ready for the Cruise Ships? Their first visits are scheduled for December this year, and Te Manawa / The Hub will play a major part.

Cruise Ship passengers will be able to come ashore at North Port then be shuttled to the Town Basin on a whirlwind sampler of the Whangārei District's most popular sights.

You'll see major development of the parking, bus and walking facilities here, and these works are made possible by a $1,670,000 grant from the Tourism Infrastructure Fund.

Footpaths between the Hundertwasser site, bus stops, Visitor Centre, Town Basin Park and Hatea Loop walkway will be upgraded and widened. The nearby public toilets will be upgraded to allow for more people.
