We offer daily boat tours to the Cathedral Cove marine reserve and the surrounding islands all year. Departure times:
Dec - Feb: 8am, 10.30am, 1.30pm, 4pm
Mar - Nov: 10.30am & 1.30pm

Price:
Adults - $135
Children (3 - 15years) - $80
Family Pass (2 adults / 2 children) - $360
Extended Family Pass (2 adults / 3 children) - $420

Sit back and watch the marine life through the glass bottom or dive in

and experiences sensational snorkeling with all equipment supplied at no extra charge! If it's dolphins, seals, penguins and whales you're into, we have a marine mammal watch permit to ensure you get up close and personal when they take time out of their busy schedule to visit us.

Today marked Amber’s last day for the season! She started out with us in 2023 as a student on placement from her studies - and since then, became a valuable team member loved by all of us for her sense of humour and willingness to give anything a go! We are proud of her heading off to Port Douglas to continue her career on the ocean but will miss her heaps. Goodluck Amber, enjoy the warm water and fishies!! 🐠🥰

Reflecting back to Monday when we assisted in taking tamariki from Te Rerenga school into Te Whanganui-o-Hei Marine Reserve to finish their Experiencing Marine Reserves (EMR) program.
It was great to see them dive in and learn all about the marine reserve and conservation.

This fantastic educational program is delivered to our local and regional schools free of charge. For the program to continue it needs the help and support of the community. The Te Whanganui-O-Hei marine reserve is a special place for us. Providing home and shelter to many different sea creatures, Marine mammals and seabed all supporting a healthy eco-system 🌏️.

Come out on a tour with our passionate crew to learn more about this magical place in our backyard. ✨️

On Friday we took 14 of our Seaweek prize winners out to explore and snorkel the marine reserve, while learning about its importance and making comparisons to outside the reserve. It was an awesome tour and a great way to finish the week.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our seaweek events. Bringing everyone together over our ocean and conservation is what it’s all about!

For our final Seaweek activity, our team headed out this morning to our favourite snorkel sites inside the marine reserve to remove any rubbish from the sea floor.

We are very pleased that this is all we found!!

Its nearly our favourite week of the year again; Seaweek 💙

Its Seaweek colouring in competition time! Get creative with our picture of Gemstone bay 🐟 Printed copies can be collected from the Mercury Bay Museum, The Whitianga Library, Espy Cafe and the Glass Bottom Boat office.

Please hand in your creations to the Glass Bottom Boat office by 12pm Thursday 6th March with the winner being announced at 5pm!!

The winner will get an adult and child pass to use on the boat for our Seaweek snorkel trip at 3.30pm on Friday 7th March.

We also have up to 8 other spot prizes to be won including merch and books.

We are so excited for Seaweek! - 1st - 9th March.

This year we are supporting Seaweek alongside Department of Conservation and The Mercury Bay Museum to provide an awesome week of events and prizes!

From 1st March we will be:
1) Posting quizzes, riddles and more on facebook daily to the 5th March.
2) Running a colouring in competition.
3) Matching all donations made from our bookings to the marine reserve trust.
4) GBB crew are doing an underwater clean up inside the marine reserve.

Prizes will be an adult and child pass per day to come out on our 3.30pm snorkel tour on Friday 7th March!!

Another huge thank you to all our amazing guests who have donated trees to the Mautohe Cathedral Cove planting project.

We have just donated 15 trees from our guests and 15 trees from the GBB...A massive total of 30 trees today.🌳

To date we have donated 50 trees which annually remove 17.68tons of carbon dioxide!!
