The Bimmah Sinkhole, also called the Hawiyyat Najm, is a water-filled depression in the limestone. It is just off the highway to Sur, few kilometers before Tiwi.

The local municipality has developed a fenced and toilet-equipped park around it, called the Hawiyat Najm Park.

There is a stairway leading down to the hole. It is very easy to swim in these turquoise clean waters! However, it is advised you wear modest clothing.

The sinkhole was formed by a collapse of the surface layer due to dissolution of the underlying limestone.

Locals used to the shape of a water well was created by a meteorite; hence the Arabic name Hawiyyat Najm, which means "the deep well of the (falling) star".

Crested Serpent Eagle.

As its English name suggests, this one is a reptile eater which hunts over forests, often close to wet grassland, for snakes and lizards. Sometimes also for birds, amphibians, mammals and fishes.

Starting the Tadoba Series with this beautiful tigress, whose identity we were confused about and who gave us a sighting for life! I will never forget my encounter with this one. It was just her and us - & !! You know, it’s like some tigers you choose to see and some tigers choose to see you!!
