Exploring Antigua with a Private Tour

Today in Antigua we decided to do something a little different and booked a private island tour with our personal driver, Dr. D. It ended up being one of the best ways to see the island!

The cost was very reasonable, and having a local guide made the experience even better. Dr. D took us all around the southwest side of the island and shared so much history and local insight along the way.

Some of the beautiful spots we visited included:

Nelson’s Dockyard – a historic naval dockyard and marina
Shirley Heights – incredible panoramic views
The Blockhouse – another amazing lookout point with stunning scenery
Darkwood Beach – where we stopped for a quick bite to eat and enjoyed the view

Seeing Antigua this way gave us a chance to explore at our own pace and really take in the island.

If anyone is visiting Antigua and interested in a personal island tour, I have Dr. D’s contact information and would be happy to share it!

Quick Stop in Martinique

Our stop in Martinique was a little shorter than planned. I wasn’t feeling the best that day, so instead of a longer excursion we decided to do a quick one-hour city tour just to see a bit of the island.

Even in that short time we were able to visit some beautiful spots including:

The historic library
The stunning cathedral
The colorful local market

Martinique has such a unique French-Caribbean charm, and even a quick tour gave us a glimpse of the culture, architecture, and daily life here.

Exploring Dominica – The Nature Island!

While in Dominica we decided to skip the big tour companies and do something a little more local and it turned out to be an amazing adventure!

Right outside the cruise port we jumped on a local island tour for $50 per person.

Our stops included:
The lush rainforest
Beautiful waterfalls
Natural sulfur springs
Tito gorge

Dominica is incredibly green and untouched compared to many other islands the scenery is absolutely stunning everywhere you look.

Sometimes the best excursions are the simple ones you find right outside the port. If you’re visiting Dominica, definitely take some time to explore the island beyond the cruise dock.

🌴 Adventure: St. John, USVI 🌴

While we docked in St. Thomas, we decided to take a little side adventure and hop the ferry over to St. John — and we’re so glad we did!

Getting there was actually really easy:
Taxi from the cruise port to the ferry – $60 round trip
Ferry from St. Thomas to St. John – $8 per person each way

The ride over is quick and the views are absolutely beautiful. Once you arrive, St. John has such a relaxed island vibe with gorgeous beaches, little shops, and amazing scenery. It’s definitely worth exploring if you’re visiting St. Thomas.

Sometimes the best cruise days are the ones where you explore just a little beyond the port!

I haven’t been posting because I’ve been sick for the last few days. Don’t you worry though because Chris has taken some amazing pictures and we will definitely get them up with our adventures. I’m finally starting to feel better today so we got back at it.
Photos coming soon :-)

There’s something so special about being able to experience multiple islands in one trip — and we can’t wait to share what we discover

Tomorrow morning our 14-day cruise comes to an end as we dock in Port Canaveral

What an incredible journey it’s been amazing ports, unforgettable memories, lots of laughs, and time to truly unplug and enjoy life at sea. We’re so grateful for every moment of this trip.

Of course… travel likes to keep things interesting
Our adventure is ending with a little hiccup — a snowstorm back home caused our flight to be cancelled

And this is where an important reminder comes in ⬇️

Travel insurance is CRUCIAL.
Because we were protected, our hotel accommodations and rental car expenses are covered — turning what could have been a very stressful situation into a manageable one.

Travel insurance isn’t just for big emergencies — it’s for real-life moments like this. Delays, cancellations, weather issues… they happen. Having coverage makes all the difference.

We’re rolling with the punches, staying safe, a little more sun, and getting home a little later than planned

If you’re ever on the fence about travel insurance: this is your sign.

Message me anytime to plan smart, stress less, and travel with confidence.

Grand Cayman kind of day 🇰🇾✨
We linked up with a friend today Myles that I met 4 years ago who took us all over the island—starting in Hell (yes, the real one 😈), then exploring Pedro St. James Castle, checking out the Blow Holes, and wrapping it up at the legendary Ten Sail Wreck.

So many unreal views, island history, and good laughs along the way. Grateful for local friends who know all the best spots and make days like this unforgettable 💙🌊
