Extraordinary trip!!!
We had an unforgettable trip through Panama, visiting Panama City, El Valle de Anton, Santa Catalina, Boca Chica, Boquete, Bocas del Toro, and San Blas. The advice, management, and flexibility of the Shana Travel team made everything perfect, and we always felt supported. I highly recommend it, and we wouldn't rule out visiting more places with them again. Thanks to Schoschana; to Sashara and Leidy who kept in touch with us every day; to Alejandro who made our trip between David and Bocas an entertaining one; and to the rest of the Shana Travel team and collaborators. This will be hard to top!!

Everyone loves to hear how things are going in Bocas del Toro! Let me start by explaining that Bocas del Toro is a beautiful province, and like any place in the world, different areas have their own unique stories.
Here in the charming village of Changuinola, we experienced some peaceful demonstrations recently—nothing out of the ordinary, just folks expressing their voices. Of course, every story has its chapters, and one night, a series of events took a turn with some vandalism that affected the town and caused some destruction. But it’s important to know that this doesn’t reflect the overall spirit of the area!
Most of the time, Changuinola is just a passing point for travelers heading from Costa Rica to the stunning Bocas del Toro archipelago, a top Caribbean tourist destination. Despite the recent challenges, things are now back to normal, and the town is peaceful again. The streets are open, and the island itself has remained safe and welcoming!
We did experience a temporary internet slowdown—just about a week of only Starlink connectivity, but all hotels and restaurants kept their internet running smoothly! Our team had a fantastic week working from different restaurants, enjoying delicious local cuisine, and great company.
There is truly no safety concern about visiting the Bocas del Toro archipelago—it's a wonderful, lively, and welcoming place
Look at the map to check where Changuinola is and where you as a traveler, want to be. There is a Caribbean Ocean in between.
