MONSTER SWELL IN MORRILLO! This is 10 - 15ft @ 18 sec. in Morrillo - the biggest swell we have seen hit here in the 11 years we have been here.

Tropical storms out in the Pacific along with the Southern hemisphere swells are causing this huge swell right now. June is famous for delivering big swells in Morrillo with low winds. Nobody surfs this size swell but it's on the way back down.

It is not common to see Capuchin and Howler monkeys cohabitating. Kunochi is like a border collie and Elda is like a basset hound. They have very different energy levels and personalities which can make it quite challenging to share a small space together.

However, these two have become total besties. They play, snuggle, and eat together. Elda was not interested in eating when she first arrived so the competition for food and mimicking Kunochi's eating habits have been so good for her. Kunochi has taught her how to eat leaves, and play which has made her so much stronger, happier, and helps to prepare her for eventual release.

They are a joy to watch coexisting in their habitat and shows that it can be done under the right circumstances.

Melikki's is a fully licensed rescue and rehabilitation center that works under direct supervision of Primate specialists and Veterinarians.

Primates are wild animals NOT pets.
