Abu had a little milestone today graduating to a much larger enclosure. Showing the need to stretch his legs and tail, it was time! He tends to fall out of his bed, poor little guy, which is why you see a little landing pad and initially why he arrived at our rescue center.

He is intimidated by his new space but being one of the most intelligent primates on the planet, he will tame his new jungle in no time. He is eating leaves now, and even tasting the figs we put in there too.

Daily play dates with Nuba continue to push his confidence and resiliency as she tends to rough house with him but it's heavily supervised and he's starting to retaliate a little which is pretty cute to see!

Melikki's is a fully licensed rescue and rehabilitation center that works under direct supervision of Primate specialists and Veterinarians.

Primates are wild animals NOT pets.

Panama as we all know and love is a mere 3 million years old but those beautiful black rocks that stand out along the shoreline - vesicular basalt date back as far as 90 million years old. They formed when volcanoes erupted beneath an ancient ocean, with lava cooling rapidly on the seafloor.

Millions of years of moving tectonic plates, volcanic activity, uplift, and reshaping eventually helped create the land we know today.

So next time you walk from our beach to the bar, take a look down. Those rocks are telling a story that began long before Panama—and long before any of us were here.

The rocks that little boy are standing on are the oldest in the entire country of Panama but that doesn't make this the oldest area of Panama. Confusing I know. We explain more tomorrow...

*Sound ON* for their cute little squeaks. Nuba and Abu continue to play and bond while Elda and Kunochi carry on as besties / siblings playing, snuggling, and challenging eachother.

Bravo is hanging on despite some really hard times but we have hope for him and are doing our best to help him get healthy again.

Not only is it adorable to watch, this is another important step along their path of reintroducing them back to the jungle where they will hopefully live long, healthy lives and reproduce.
