For the soul of Nims.
Some people climb mountains.
Others become part of their history.
Nirmal “Nims” Purja dedicated his life to the mountains, pushing the limits of what seemed possible and inspiring a generation of climbers around the world.
From the fourteen 8,000-meter peaks to the first winter ascent of K2, his achievements were extraordinary. But perhaps his greatest legacy will not be measured in records or summits, but in the passion, courage and determination with which he lived his life.
He loved the mountains, and now the mountains have made him a legend.
May his soul rest in peace.
May his family and loved ones find strength.
And may the mountains forever remember his name.
Rest in peace, Nims.
