Traveling to the Colca Canyon, in the Arequipa region, is also the ideal opportunity to see one of the most traditional dances of : the . This cultural expression, originally from the district of Tapay, has several characteristics as a style, from the erotic, emotional and religious. It is known as the "dance of love" because, in the past, ancient warriors used to make maidens fall in love with them through these dance moves. Today it can be enjoyed in large festivals in the southern region of the country, from the incredible garments, the different styles, each with its own splendor.
On this day, in 2015, this Peruvian tradition received the recognition of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco.
